We are now open!
We are really excited to have opened our doors again and to be able to welcome you all back.
We've had to make a few changes and we would welcome your help with a some of them: Whilst we find our feet we are encouraging bookings only inside the pub. Outside tables are not available to book, however a queuing system will be in place at busy times. We have now gone cashless and would ask for contactless payments wherever possible.
For a full list of our changes, please see our 'Keeping everyone safe' page to find out more.
We hope to see you soon.
The Red Fox is a large brick and sandstone building built in the second half of the 19th century.
Within we have many spacious, airy rooms, and plenty more intimate nooks and crannies to nestle away in if you're so inclined. Open fires abound throughout, with wooden floors, an attractive collection of rugs and plants, and lots of good old furniture. We like to think we are a pub with real character.
To the rear of the pub we have extensive raised terraces which overlook the landscaped lawns and countryside beyond. It'll be a wonderful spot to dine in the sunshine from our seasonal, fresh menus made up of a mixture of hearty British classics and lighter lunchtime bites.
We are delighted to have received some auspicious awards of late: 'To have been listed as one of the 'Top 10 Whisky Pubs' in the 2018 Good Pub Guide Awards and we've retained our cider award being named Wirral CAMRA - 'Cider Pub of the Year 2018'.
Our passion lies in finding quality fresh ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way. Our menus have a spine of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world. We upload them to our web site each day before 12 noon so that you may peruse them at your leisure.
Thanks to our customers recommending us, you'll find us in the:
