Here is little potted history of our pub and the local area... if you have a spare minute or two and maybe a cup of tea (or is that a G&T), we think it's well worth read.
As our crew come on board, well be adding them here so you can get to know some faces...
Acting Manager
Originally from Budapest, Ben has been part of the Brunning & Price family for over 10 years. His hospitality journey began at just 15 years old, collecting glasses, but he quickly discovered a passion for the industry that inspired him to study Hospitality and Business Management at UCB.
When he's not at work, you'll usually find him indulging his love of cars. A true petrolhead, he spends much of his spare time either working on or driving his drift car.
General Manager
If you’ve popped into the Globe, chances are you’ve been welcomed with a smile, a friendly chat and that lovely feeling of being right where you belong. That’s exactly how our General Manager, Helen, likes it. Her hospitality journey began at just 15, working as a Sunday girl in the kitchen, chopping cabbage and pouring the gravy. Little did she know then just how far that first job would take her.
The Globe has always held a special place in her heart. Having worked here around 12 years ago, she returned five years ago after spending time working abroad. A quick call to her old boss asking for work turned into an opportunity she couldn’t resist: a new challenge and the chance to return to a place she already knew and loved.
What makes the Globe so special to her is its rich past and the stories customers share, from weddings and discos gone by to tales of different owners and even tunnels to the castle. There’s always something new to discover.
For her, great hospitality is all about the little things: the chats, the smiles and the chance to brighten someone’s day. She wants every customer to feel as though they’re visiting a friend, with a warm welcome and a comfortable place to relax.
One of her proudest moments has been seeing the Globe grow and evolve. Now, following her return from maternity leave, she’s thrilled to be part of a new chapter with Brunning & Price, complete with a fresh new look. She’s excited about what lies ahead with the crew at the Globe, greeting familiar faces and new ones alike.
So, whether you’re joining us for a meal, a cosy drink or simply a good old-fashioned natter, she looks forward to welcoming you in. After all, at the Globe, you’re always among friends.
Deputy Manager
Although new to Brunning & Price, Stacey brings with her 18 years of hospitality experience. She loves great food, meeting people, and the organised chaos that comes with life in a busy pub. You'll often find Stacey chatting away with customers and helping to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
When she's not at work, Stacey enjoys experimenting with new dishes in the kitchen and spending time at home with her beloved cat, Custard.
Deputy Manager
Fliss has been a Deputy Manager for two years and has worked in pubs and hotels since she was 16. She started out in hotels in Northamptonshire before moving to Bath to live with her partner. There she worked in a lively city-centre cocktail bar and quickly worked her way into management. She loved her time in Bath and learnt a lot there, but wanted to move back to the Midlands to be closer to her family. So she settled in Warwick, a town she’s still new to but is quickly learning to love.
Fliss wanted to work at the Globe because she loves the mix of pub and hotel together: being able to welcome customers in as though it’s her own home and properly look after them. She’d always wanted to move into a business that does good food, something you don’t really get in a cocktail bar. She’s enjoying everything she’s learning so far and being part of it all.
For Fliss, the Globe is special because, even though it’s small, it’s mighty. The crew welcome lots of customers through the door every day, and the people of Warwick have given the pub such a warm reception.
When she’s not at work, Fliss is at home working very hard at relaxing. She doesn’t tend to move much; she just gets cosied up on the sofa with a film, some good food and, quite probably, her Nintendo Switch. Keeping her company is Reggie, her little Scottish Fold cat.
Restaurant Supervisor
Alfie is one of the youngest members of the crew. He joined the Globe two years ago, aged 16, and since the pub’s refurbishment he has been promoted to Supervisor, a role he’s taken on with real enthusiasm. He’s very much a rising star at the Globe.
He loves a busy night on the bar; the more people, the better. In his spare time, he keeps fit at the gym, takes his dog, Jeff, on scenic walks and plays a bit of golf.
Alfie looks forward to welcoming you to the Globe soon.
Acting Head Chef
With 15 years of kitchen experience, Jack is no stranger to the pace of a busy pub kitchen. He thrives on the heat, energy and organised chaos of service, and loves the sense of achievement that comes from sending out great food day after day.
Away from work, Jack is a keen Formula 1 fan. When he’s not following the latest race weekend, he’s spending time with his young son, often out and about on walks together.
Sous Chef
With 14 years of experience in the industry, Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our kitchen. He thrives on the challenges that come with working as a chef and loves that no two days are ever the same. His passion for the job and commitment to quality make him a valued member of the team.
When he's not in the kitchen, Ryan spends most of his free time with his daughter. He's also a proud snake enthusiast and collector. Currently, he has three snakes at home (don't worry - they stay at home, not in the kitchen.)
Chef de Partie
Adi has been part of The Globe family for many years, standing by us through thick and thin. His dedication and passion for what he does are a big part of why he’s still here today, embracing every new chapter and change along the way.
A hardworking and committed member of the team, Adi is always focused on delivering his best. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and spending time with his family whenever he gets the chance.
Interesting fact: Adi once cooked aboard the only submarine in the Romanian fleet — a unique experience that not many chefs can claim!
Chef de Partie
Toby is our much-loved breakfast and prep chef. Since joining us last year, he has taken great pride in creating delicious food and putting smiles on people’s faces with his culinary skills.
When he's not in the pub, Toby enjoys spending quality time with his four-year-old daughter, making memories together. He also loves fishing, biking, golfing, and keeping active through calisthenics.
