Pottery Making Night at The Falcon ~ Wednesday 11th March
Wednesday 11th March
A Night with Elizabeth Murthy from Bernwood Pottery at The Falcon
A perfect Mother’s Day gift
Join us for a creative evening with Elizabeth Murthy from Bernwood Pottery, who will be hosting a hands-on pottery workshop here at The Falcon.
This is a hand-building session focused on making pinch pots, which you’ll shape into beautiful bud vases. These versatile pieces can be used for garden cuttings, houseplants, pen pots, or simple storage around the home.
The evening is all about creating form. You’ll have the opportunity to enhance your piece by carving texture or adding appliqués, with plenty of inspiration provided. Elizabeth will bring a mood board and examples to spark ideas and guide you throughout the workshop.
We’ll be working with stoneware clay, which Elizabeth will take back to her studio to be fired. During the session, you’ll choose from a range of glaze options and discuss your preferences. Once complete, your pottery will need to dry and be fired twice, so finished pieces will be ready in approximately 2.5–3 weeks. Elizabeth will return them to The Falcon for collection once glazed and finished.
Be prepared
Clay is messy, so please wear old clothes — don’t worry, clay is washable and won’t stain. You’re welcome to bring an apron, and we recommend removing rings, as they can mark the clay and get a little dirty during the process.
Tickets are £49.95 per person, which includes fizz and nibbles on arrival.
Please email us at [email protected] with any allergies or dietary requirements.
We look forward to welcoming you for a lovely evening of creativity.
