Kitchen Work
Hi all,
After a record breaking year last year here at the Black Jug, it has been established that there are areas of the pub we can spruce up and give some TLC.
From Monday 20th - Thursday 30th April 6pm the kitchen will be CLOSED.
We will still be keeping the bar open to make sure you lovely lot can stay refreshed in the gorgeous April sunshine (fingers crossed), albeit, we will be running reduced hours;
Monday to Friday opening at 4pm, closing at 11pm
Saturday opening at 12pm, closing at 11pm
Sunday opening at 12pm, closing at 1030pm
We apologise for the disruption, and it will be a lot of hard work to get us through to the finish line, but we are confident the result will be more than worth it.
Please fell free to give the pub a call should you have any questions/concerns.
Wish us luck!
Ally and the Black Jug team
Welcome
With the bar at its heart and food in its soul the Black Jug is a traditional pub.
The perfect spot to enjoy an after work pint of ale or glass of vino, a lunchtime bite from our daily menu or a leisurely Sunday roast complete with roaring log fire, whatever the occasion you will always find a relaxed atmosphere and a very warm welcome.
We look forward to seeing you,
Ally and the Black Jug team.
Menus
Our passion lies in finding quality fresh ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way. Our menus have a spine of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world. We upload them to our web site each day so that you may peruse them at your leisure.

By the late 1800s it became The Hurst Arms, likely after Robert Hurst MP who owned the adjoining Park House and placed his family coat of arms there. After a fire it was rebuilt in the 1930s, and in the early 1990s the name returned... read more on our page
