About Us

Here is just a little info to let you get to know us better...

Here is little potted history of our pub and the local area... if you have a spare minute or two and maybe a cup of tea (or is that a G&T), we think it's well worth read.

Front of house

Jonathan Gillespie

Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things, Jon has worked in the hospitality industry in various capacities for many years. He has worked for Brunning and Price since 2018 and if you're looking for a good country pub recommendation, he's your man. Originally from Hampshire, he moved permanently back to London to take over the reins at the Steam Packet. Currently living on a boat overlooking Kew Gardens, he thinks the view from the balcony at the pub is better. He loves his motorcycle and children but will never admit in which order. Most likely to be found searching for the perfect pint of Guinness, which apparently is not that easy to find...

Hayley Roberts

Deputy Manager

Originally from beautiful North Wales and living in lively London since 2013. Having worked in the industry for over 10 years Hayley would honestly say it’s been the best 10 years of her life so far! From mixing cocktails to pulling pints Hayley is ray of sunshine on the floor. When not working, she is most likely to be found on the otherside of the bar, plotting her next foreign adventure over a glass of good red wine.

Alessandrio Iannicca

Assistant Manager

Alex, as he is known here, is our resident Italian, he has a love of all things food and wine and it shows in how passionate he is about his job. He hails from the Abruzzo region originally, a wild and rugged area of Italy where he worked man and boy in the wonderful world of food and drink. We are pleased he continues what he started there, here with us. As a career professional, if you were to ask Alex his favourite thing about working here, he would probably say wearing trainers... Honestly, the stairs do take their toll, he was 6ft tall when he started with us.
