Jonathan Gillespie

Manager

Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things, Jon has worked in the hospitality industry in various capacities for many years. He has worked for Brunning and Price since 2018 and if you’re looking for a good country pub recommendation, he’s your man. Originally from Hampshire, he moved permanently back to London to take over the reins at the Steam Packet. Currently living on a boat overlooking Kew Gardens, he thinks the view from the balcony at the pub is better. He loves his motorcycle and children but will never admit in which order. Most likely to be found searching for the perfect pint of Guinness, which apparently is not that easy to find…

Hayley Roberts

Deputy Manager

Originally from beautiful North Wales and living in lively London since 2013. Having worked in the industry for over 10 years Hayley would honestly say it’s been the best 10 years of her life so far! From mixing cocktails to pulling pints Hayley is ray of sunshine on the floor. When not working, she is most likely to be found on the otherside of the bar, plotting her next foreign adventure over a glass of good red wine.

James Gillies

Assistant Manager

Giving Jon a run for his money on “lively” shirts, James hails from the city of Salisbury, which he will tell you has the tallest Cathedral in Great Britain, apparently that’s a big deal in those parts. Following his heart he relocated to London where his then girlfriend promptly dumped him allowing him to crack on with running various restaurants for the past 6 years. His previous employer could not fulfil his urge to serve world class gins and excellent ales, so he joined the Steam Packet. Despite being one of the newest members of the team, it feels like he's been here forever!!

Vincy D\'souza

Head Chef

From the gorgeous Goa, Vincy has been a chef on land and sea for over 20 years. From 5-star hotels to cruise ships this dude has experienced many different cultures and cuisines on his journey to the Steam Packet. He “loves doing what he loves to do” and we cannot find fault in that logic, it certainly seems to show in his food. If you see him on the floor, feel free to chat to him, he doesn’t bite, and will happily talk you though the menu if you are struggling to choose. Most likely you will hear him promise that one day he will make the onions cry!
