Meet the Brewer- Loddon

On an autumnal September evening we were delighted to host Chris Hearn, founder of Loddon Brewery. From auspicious beginnings in a converted barn near the village of Dunsden Green, Chris and his staff have grown the brewery from an output of 1,000 barrels to over 7,000 barrels and Loddon beers have won over 47 awards to date. Coming along with Chris were six of his finest beers which are produced using ingredients based mainly in the United Kingdom. Bamboozle, Ferryman's Gold, Forbury Lion IPA, Hullabaloo, Reading Best and Russet joined our regular Loddon beer Hoppit and provided Chris's rapt audience with a variety of differing tastes and styles of ale. Also on the night we were honoured and delighted to be awarded Pub of the Season by the South Oxfordshire branch of CAMRA. This quarterly award recognises a pub's commitment to the care, quality and range of its real ale. Thank's to all those who came and a special thanks to Chris Hearn and members of SOXON CAMRA who gave us an award to be proud of.
