Supervisor - approx 35 hours per week

Fancy working behind the bar rather than propping it up?

One of our lovely team is moving on to greener pastures so we're in need of someone to join our bar team on a full or part time basis. You don’t need to have experience (though it always helps) as we’ll teach you everything you need.

Sous Chef

Salary package up to £30,000 plus tips and benefits  

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join our beautiful pub restaurant The Packhorse in Mapledurham near Reading.

As Sous Chef you'll be hands on to ensure the smooth running of our busy kitchen. We make almost everything from scratch so this is a role for a Sous Chef who really loves fresh ingredients and has a passion for flavours.

We're part of Brunning & Price, which means we have all the independence to run our pub and kitchen how we want, but with the support and stability of a rapidly growing big group backing us up whenever we need it.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, ideally in a premium pub
  • Great people manager with a focus on training and development
  • High standards of food hygiene and H&S
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about fresh food and quality ingredients
  • Strong grasp of stock, GP and labour control

Chef de Partie

Salary £21k - £23k plus paid over-time + tips + company benefits

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our beautiful pub restaurant in Mapledurham on the River Thames!

As Chef de Partie you'll be an essential part of the kitchen team. That means you'll be cooking and working across all sections (with all brand new shiny kit), but you'll also have an opportunity to contribute ideas for the regularly changing, seasonal fresh food menu. We make almost everything from scratch so this is a kitchen for a Chef de Partie who really loves fresh ingredients and has a passion for flavours.

We're part of Brunning & Price, which means we have all the independance to run our pub and kitchen how we want, but with the support and stability of a rapidly growing big group backing us up whevever we need it.

As our Chef de Partie you will:

  • Have solid experience in a fresh food kitchen
  • Be able to handle a section on a busy service
  • Prepare fresh food dishes from scratch across all sections
  • Help to manage stock and ensure minimal wastage
  • Ensure the highest standards of food hygiene and H&S

Finally, we don't reserve any of our outside tables so if you enjoy a little alfresco dining these are first come first serve.
