Planned Power Outage - Friday 2nd May

We are due a power outage on Friday, 2nd May, during the early hours of the morning and stretching into lunch and potentially early afternoon. We intend on staying open during these hours to create as little disruption as possible, but the kitchen will have to remain closed until a couple of hours after the power has been restored.

If you are booked in or intend on joining us Friday daytime, please bear with us as we will try our very best to accommodate everyone throughout this time.

Bridge closed from 9.15am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday this week.

There are essential bridge works taking place this week and the bridge will be closed from 9:15am to 2:30pm on Monday 28th April to Thursday 1st May.

The road to Aldford from Farndon is open to access the pub as usual. Please ignore the road closed signs and the barriers, drive past them, and you will find the pub very much open.

Traveling from Chester, please either come via the A41 to Broxton, Farndon and to Aldford. Or alternatively cut through from Handley on the A41 to Churton to Aldford.

We hope to see you soon.
Justin and all the team

Welcome

From the front we are quite an imposing red brick building, but we are probably better reflected from the garden view of our pub which is a delight of higgledy-piggledy roof lines and soft, warm Cheshire common brick.

We are a charming pub with well-spaced rooms, a beautiful garden room which fills with sunlight and leads onto a great outside terrace with a very pleasing garden, which in turn leads onto the village green. The locals are very fond of it as it's the perfect spot to watch the world go by.

Our menus have their roots in modern British cooking, with a hint of the more exotic about them. They change often to reflect the seasons and are supported by a well-balanced wine list offering a good quality but affordable range and a well-stocked bar of local ales and interesting spirits.

If you would like us to keep you up to date, follow us on Instagram and Facebook or subscribe to our mailing list below and we will send you an occasional update. By subscribing to our mailing list, you will also be entered into our monthly competition to win a meal to the value of £50.
