About Us

Here is just a little info to let you get to know us better...

Our Crew

As our crew come on board, well be adding them here so you can get to know some faces...

Front of house

Adam

Manager

Adam and Cheslea (our Senior Deputy) moved down from Scotland to join us at the Barn Owl, along with their two Jack Russels, Terry and Lotti, who you may find about the pub, saying hello to anyone who will give them some love.

Adam has been running pubs since he was 25, having found his passion for people and looking after everyone, something we love about him. Along with hospitality, whisky is his passion, and he claims to have been to 90% of Scotland’s whisky distilleries (we dare you to quiz him at the bar on this fact). When asked what his favourite whisky is, he told us ‘that’s an impossible question to answer’. We are still hoping to get the answer one day.

He boasts an eclectic music taste, from 60’s rock’n’roll to 2010’s pop, and with a specific passion for country music, you’ll understand where the soundtrack to life at the Barn Owl comes from. Playing guitar since 12 years old, he promises to play a tune or two if enough whisky has flowed here at the Barn Owl.

Chelsea

Senior Deputy Manager

Chelsea is our Senior Deputy here at the Barn Owl and we couldn’t be without her. It seems Adam (our Manager) feels the same way as they have been a couple since way back, after meeting in music class when they were just 14 years old (ahhh).

They have worked in pubs together for years, with Chelsea taking a short break to work in Marketing which she studied at university. She loves being a part of the local community and enjoys keeping in touch over social media (when they can’t bear in the pub that is!).

Chelsea’s favourite food... well we couldn’t get a winner out of her, but she did share her top three of: her mum’s homemade lasagne, carbonara and baked camembert. That sounds like the dinner of champions to us. When away from the pub, you’ll find her on long walks with Adam, Terry and Lotti (their two Jack Russels) in the beautiful countryside that surrounds us.

Chelsea and her family are from France - Troyes, the capital of Champagne no less. They moved over when she was 10, but we are all packed and ready to head back over for a guided tour whenever you’re ready Chelsea.

Beky

Assistant Manager

Beky joins us from a varied career in hospitality and care over the last 17 years – needless to say, we are very excited to have her coming on board with us at the Barn Owl with all of her experience.

Beky’s dream trio is coffee, cheese and ice cream (not all together!). So, if you ever need inspiration for a birthday or Christmas pressie – you’re covered with any of those three.

Beky loves reading and when asked what her favourite genre was, she replied ‘ANYTHING’. Also a lover of country music, a good series and her favourite film ever ‘a walk to remember’. If all of her talents and passions weren’t enough – she also bakes! Who doesn’t love a baker?!

We think Beky is going to fit in very well and she can’t wait to get behind the bar to meet everyone!

Kitchen

Dylan

Head Chef

Dylan heads up our lovely kitchen team, bringing a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years working in kitchens since he was just 16 years old. He has been Head Chef for 15 of those years with a lot of that time spent in Sydney, where he worked in yacht clubs, fine dining restaurants, and of course the pinnacle… pubs.

Dylan recently moved back to Farnborough to be closer to his son who is training to hard to be a professional footballer no less, currently at Aldershot Town FC. We’ve already asked for the first autograph.

Drink of choice… well if Champagne isn’t available, you’ll find him with a Negroni in hand. Luckily one of our specialities. When it comes to food, he’ll be out exploring local restaurants whenever he gets the chance.

To quote Dylan “sandwiches are the cornerstone of life”, so if he’s not at the pub, we figure you’ll probably find him on a touchline, with a BLT in one hand and a negroni in the other - not a bad way to pass the time.

As well as mastering the kitchen, he loves cycling and is a black belt in karate (yes, our kitchen team is the most disciplined around!).

Dylan has a passion for people, and really enjoys having his own team and educating his chefs wherever he can. We are extremely lucky to have him.
