Speyside
This area has the highest concentration of distilleries in Scotland, with much of the water coming from the mighty river Spey. The whiskies have a greater similarity than in other regions: generally being complex and elegant, with honey and heather tones.
Balvenie Caribbean cask 14 yr - 43% Aged in rum casks for 14 years, giving that sugary depth that is a real individual flavour. £5.50
BenRiach 10 Year Old This 10 year old Speyside single malt is drawn from ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, lovely fruity nose and flavours. £3.50
Benrinnes 15 Year Old - Flora and Fauna - 43% A very interesting dram, the only Speysider to be triple-distilled, toffee & biscuit notes with a whiff of peat. Try this with a cheesecake, yum. £4.75
Cragganmore 12 yr - 40% A complex malty aroma backed by restrained herbs and flowers. £4.50
Cragganmore Distillers Edition - 40% Distillers Edition double matured and distilled in 1997, finished off in port casks. £5.00
GLENFIDDICH 12 YR/OLD This classic Speyside from Glenfiddich aged for 12 years in American and European Oak casks. £3.00
Glenfiddich Experimental Series - Project XX - 47% 20 Malt Masters were invited to pick a whisky maturing in the warehouse, these were married together to create this malt; classic fruitiness & hints of apple blossom and plump pear. £4.80
Glen Grant 10 yr - 40% Slightly herbaceous elements to give great vibrance, with mellowing vanilla and nut to balance. £3.00
Glenfarclas 15 yr - 46% Amber with hints of sherry, malt and a touch of smoke. Long and smooth. £5.00
Glenfarclas 17yr - 43% A delicious, richly sherried Glenfarclas aged for 17 years £6.50
Glenlivet (The) 12 yr - 40% Pale gold with a clean flowery nose. Long, gently warming vanilla. £3.30
Glen Moray 10 Year Old Chardonnay 40% Amazingly, this 10 year old Glen Moray was matured for its entire ageing period in chardonnay casks! Rich and surprisingly sweet and buttery, a fabulous little whisky… £4.25
Glen Moray Elgin Classic This "Classic" expression its Light & fresh and slightly fruity. £3.40
Imperial 1997 (bottled 2017) - Gordon & MacPhail - 43% A now pretty rare Single malt from the dearly departed (and demolished) Imperial distillery, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. Sherry, tropical fruits with a bit of old oak. £9.00
The Macallan 10 Year Old Sherry Oak 40% A Macallan matured in sherry casks. Macallan uses only Golden Promise barley, and actually uses up 90% of the annual crop in scotland.. The nose is quite light and clean. £5.90
The Macallan 18 yr 43% 18 years maturing in Sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain, imparts masses of fruity, sherried goodness - not widely available; a very rare treat. £12.00
Macallan Gold - 40% Lots of zest combined with spice creates a malt that goes down very easily indeed. £4.00
The Macallan Sienna - 43% The third darkest and third most expensive bottling in the no age statement, sherry matured 1824 Series from The Macallan - Raisins and dried apricots are foremost flavours here £8.00
Macallan quest - 40% Matured in both ex-bourbon American oak casks and hand-picked sherry casks made of European oak and American oak, as well as hogshead casks. The nose highlights soft fruits and a citrus edge, and sweet, subtle vanilla. £6.00
SPEY Tenné 46% It is initially aged in bourbon casks before enjoying a 6 month finishing period in Tawny Port casks, giving a subtle ruby hue and vibrant, fruit-filled flavour profile. £3.90
Strathisla 12 yr - 40% Sherry ageing makes this whisky all things spice, christmas in a glass. £4.00
Tomintoul 10 40% A gentle 10 year old from the Speyside distillery, Tomintoul. £4.00
Lowlands
Whiskies from the Lowlands tend to be light and gentle. The single malts are usually quite dry. Peat is very rarely used. The single malts are soft and delicate and triple distillation is practiced, indeed it is for this that the region is known. There is very little salinity and plenty of floral notes and balanced fruit.
Ailsa Bay - 48.9% Single malt from Ailsa Craig, founded in 2007 This is remarkably smoky for a Lowland malt. Peaty and phenolic, with sweet honeyed notes coming through. £5.25
Auchentoshan Three Wood Matured in 3 different casks, Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry casks, producing an amazing whisky with cooked fruit, sherry, toffee, with a a rum-like quality. £4.50
Auchentoshan 12 yr - 40% This whisky goes on forever. Pineapple, cereals, & soft vanilla remain in taste and impression. £3.50
Cameronbridge 24 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) - 50% A deliciously creamy 24 year old Cameronbridge single grain Scotch whisky, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company, dark chocolate and caramel. One of 171 bottles. £5.75
Glenkinchie 12 Year Old - 43% This 12 year old is the new entry level bottling from Glenkinchie, the nose is quite light, yet fragrant with notes of fresh cereal and grist, some barley sweetness and a nutty note. £3.50
Port Dundas 12 Year Old 2004 - North Star Spirits - 58.8% An indie bottling fro Port Dundas distillery, which was sadly closed in 2011. A limited outturn of 318 bottles makes this pretty rare, lovely an creamy with vanilla hints and a hit of warmth. £6.20
Campbell Town
Once a thriving region on the whisky scence, now only three producers remain, Campbeltown single malts are rather dry and gentle smoky. The proximity to the coast proffers a salty character. One can imagine a cross between the Western Highlands and the Lowlands, with a little salinity.
Glen Scotia 15 Year Old - 46% Specially selected American oak casks are used to age this expression, which compliment the fruit-forward and subtly coastal whisky rather well, lots of rich fruit here with sea breeze. £5.50
Hazelburn 10yr 42% It is triple distilled, matured in bourbon casks non peated, oily and slightly sweet on the finish. £4.00
Longrow 10 yr - 46% Light and sweet with notes of green grapes and rhubarb. Then comes a big blast of smoke. £5.00
LONGROW CV 46% Subtle it aint, but fans of peaty, citrussy young drams will not be disappointed. £4.50
Springbank 10 yr - 46% Really impressive measures of peat and smoke dance together in harmony. £4.00
Springbank 15 yr - 46% Salad and tropical fruit, a hint of warmth on the finish make this an interesting one for sure. £6.20
Highlands
From The Highlands, geographically the largest region; these Malts exhibit a variety of styles, from the hardness and marine tint of Glenfarclas, to the subtle taste of Glengoyne situated close to Glasgow, to The Lowlands, producing the fewest amount of whiskys of any of the regions, leaning towards a mellower, softer touch.
Aberlour 10 yr - 40% This is a great entry-level malt, ideal for beginners, with a fine sherried spiciness. £2.80
Aberlour A'Bundah - 60.1% It has black cherry sweetness, gingery spice and a real punch. A''bundah means origin in gealic. £5.00
Aberfeldy 12yr - 40% Sweet, malty, and rich with a gentle peat but nonetheless the mouth feel is very clean. £4.80
AnCnoc 12 yr - 40% Very Subtle, mellow flavours, lots of complexity. £4.00
Dalmore Cigar Malt - 44% Caramel edging towards the burnt cinder-toffee side of things. Flamed orange-zest and sherry. £10.50
Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition - 43% Jam with crushed up almonds dusted with sugar and oak spices. £6.50
Dalwhinnie 15 yr - 43% Soft honeyed sweetness, hints of fennel and cream, balanced by sharp citrus. £5.00
Deanstown 12 yr - 46.3% This non chill-filtered malt has bags of honey and biscuit and goes down very easily for a 40+%. £4.50
Edradour 10 yr - 40% Dark gold with mint aroma over syrup and barbecue smoke. £4.50
Fettercairn 10 yr- 42% A creamy, milky body with more of a porridge and treacle aftertaste. £6.00
Glendronach 12 yr - 43% The Peatyness is complimented by a hint of chocolate to smooth it over. £5.00
Glenkinchie 12 yr - 43% Fruity, with notes of Madeira and sweet stewed fruits. A hint of calvados and tannic oak. £3.50
Glenmorangie 10 yr - 40% Sandalwood with a whiff of the sea. Spicy, buttery, long and rounded. £3.60
Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 yr - 43% An Oloroso sherry finished whisky from Glenmorangie, the word 'Lasanta' derives from the Gaelic for Warmth and Passion. £6.00
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 yr - 46% Aged in port casks there are lots of berries and depth to get stuck into. £5.40
Loch Lomond Original 40% A satisfying, subtly peated single malt Scotch whisky from Loch Lomond. £3.80
Longmorn 16 yr - 48% Intensely fruity and very long with a marmalade finish. £6.00
Royal Lochnagar 12 yr - 40% Big, smoky and smooth with restrained fruit and malt. £4.00
Speyburn Brandon Orach - 40% A no-age-statement expression from Speyburn. Bradan Orach means Golden Salmon. £3.00
Tomatin 12 yr - 43% This core single malt from the ace distillery in the Highlands is finished for six-to-nine months in Oloroso Sherry casks before being bottled. £3.80
Teaninich 2009 (bottled 2017) - Connoisseurs Choice You don't get to see many Teaninich single malt these days, so it's always a treat when we get some here, it has a lovely body with chocolate and cherry flavours and you can taste the barley. £4.25
Islands
No an official recognised separate area, The Islands is a diverse region, though the single malts are usually rather rich. Smoke is a recurring theme, as is balance and richness. There is often a good peat, salinity and counteracting cereal sweetness. There are no hard and fast rules for the Islands, for the terroir and production methods differ greatly between distilleries.
Arran Malt 10 yr - 50% This brilliant malt has plenty to offer, with mainly honey and candied fruit, a vague salt at the end sets this off very nicely. £4.00
Arran Amarone cask finish - 50% Amarone is dry Italian red wine made using partially dried Corvina grapes, Rondinella grapes and Molinara, flavours of cherry and dark chocolate, try it with chocolate. £4.25
Arran Port Wine Cask Finish - 50% Rich and full bodied. Arran seems to suit red wine. This Port Cask finish is testament to that. £4.30
Arran - Robert Burns Single Malt - 43% A single malt from the Isle of Arran distillery, celebrating the famed Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Fresh, vanilla flavours with a touch of spice. £4.00
Highland Park 18 yr - 43% A major player in the single malt world, has to be tasted to be believed! £12.50
Highland Park Dark Origins 46.8% A whisky with a suitably 'dark' character. Using 80% first-fill Sherry casks, the colour is lovely, dark and rich with notes coming from both the European and American oak casks. this has created an exciting, spicy, chocolatey whisky. £6.50
Highland Park Valkyrie - 45.9% The first in Highland Park's Viking Legend series in partnership with Danish designer Jim Lyngvild More pronounced smoke than you’d find in a regular Highland Park, but as ever its balanced. £5.50
Isle of Jura 10 yr - 40% Bright gold, light and sweetish. Slowly developing a soft dry saltiness. £3.00
Ledaig 10yr - 46.3% Medium-bodied and quite rich. There are notes of spice and smoke gathering above the charred oak. The peat is quiet and dry with a touch of black pepper and earth. £3.00
Scapa Skiren - 40% Matured in first fill American oak casks, bringing plenty of vanilla & honey notes to the table. £4.45
Talisker 2001 Distillers Edition - 45.8% 10 Years Old finished in Amorso sherry casks. Remarkable whiskey, you can take a massive sea side storm into your mouth with some fruit and a touch of peat! £6.60
Talisker Port Ruighe - 40% Thick and mouth coating like the Storm with chilli and a little chocolate orange. £5.60
Tobermory 10 Year Old 46.3% A gentle, affable 10 year old single malt from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. £4.45
Islay
Islay is one of the larger islands off the west coast, rugged and very exposed to the North Atlantic. The influence of the sea is usually obvious, in aroma and taste, as the whiskey matures in its briney environment. Usually containing a hefty level of peat due to the soil, water and peat fires used to char the barrels
Ardbeg 10 yr - 46% Smoke and brine nose, medium body, sweetness going to salt. £4.00
Bowmore 12 yr - 40% Pears soaked in honey, smoked over peat with dark chocolate. £3.30
Bruichladdich Scottish Barley - 50% Made with Scottish barley alone, this un peated malt is a modern classic. £4.70
Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Heavily Peated - 50% Port Charlotte is a union of the classic floral elegance of Bruichladdich and heavy peat. £5.50
Bruichladdich 9 Year Old 2001 - Renaissance - 46% A special release to mark the acquisition and rebirth of the Islay distillery, 2,500 unpeated bottles were produced, butterscotch and vanilla flavours this is a piece of Islay whisky history. £6.00
Bunnahabhain 12 yr - 46.3% Lightly peated for an Islay malt so consequently is a light, fresh dram with a little sweetness from the sherry casks. £4.70
Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine 46.3% This is a pretty rare bottle, a portion was matured in red wine casks, resulting in juicy berry notes throughout, blending well with the wafts of sea salt and orchard fruit, smoky long finish £5.45
Octomore 09.1 59.1% An enjoyably punchy and heavily peated single malt that sets out to challenge the idea that older means better when it comes to whisky, and it does so by offering up a 5 year old Islay whisky weighing in at 156 PPM, matured in ex-American whiskey casks 51 £9.00
Caol Ila 12 yr - 43% Vinho verde mixed with vanilla and nutmeg. £4.00
The Ileach Peaty - 40% The Ileach is a peaty single malt from a secret Islay distillery, this has received rave reviews from whisky critics and has a solid core of peat and malt. £3.50
Islay Storm - 40% An Islay single malt from a secret distillery, as you would expect it has loads of peaty character. £3.50
Kilchoman 100% Islay - 50% This is produced completely on Islay, with barley grown, harvested, malted, distilled and matured at the distillery, This is not peated and is a little honey to the taste. £6.20
Lagavulin 16 Year Old 43% A much sought-after single malt with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay - but also offering richness and a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting tipple. The 16 year old has truly become a benchmark Islay dram from the Lagavul £4.65
Laphroaig Triple Wood - 48% Three ageing processes go into this, the quarter casks again make a welcome return to the process. Originally intended for duty free market, its so good that it has been rolled out to all. £5.50
Laphroaig 10 yr - 40% Famously medicinal and sea-weedy in taste, with a hint of oily sweetness. £3.80
Laphroaig Quarter Cask - 48% What an achievement from Laphroaig! Using Quarter size casks to speed up the maturation time but achieves some unreal flavours and textures. £5.00
Laphroaig Lore 48% Said to be the richest ever Laphroaig, Created by Distillery Manager John Campbell, it is said to contain some of their "most precious stock", rich and peaty with a hint of ash. £6.75
PORT ASKAIG 100% PROOF 57% Launched in 2015, the Port Askaig 100° Proof is a big, smoky single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed Islay distillery. £4.20
Blended Scotch
Antiquary 12 yr - 40% This really well comprised blend is freshness and depth. Zest and apple combine with honey, oak and barley. A great blend for any time of year. £4.00
Black Bottle - 40% Balanced mix of fruitiness and spice alongside peaty Islay notes £2.60
Cutty Sark - 40% Rounded, mixed peels and lots of barley. £2.60
Dimple 15 yr - 40% Medium body with warm notes of spice. Caramel, toffee and honey. A little smoke and oak. £4.20
High Commissioner - 40% A blend of various malt and grain whiskies with good balance. £2.60
Johnnie Walker Red Label - 40% There are notes of malted barley and potpourri, a touch of winter spice and fruitcake. £3.10
Johnny Walker Gold Label - 40% Honey, heather and floral notes, this reserve covers the lot. £5.50
Johnny Walker Platinum - 40% Very rich, intense and sweet. With spices like cinnamon and clove. £8.00
Johnnie Walker Blue Label - 40% Strong toffee and hints of wistful smoke. Chocolate, hints of grass and a good hit of malt. £15.50
Johnny Walker Swing - 40% A collectable whiskey from the infamous Johnny Walker in a limited edition rocking bottle. £5.50
Lord Elcho - 40% Sweet caramel and more fruits, followed by spicy malt and ginger. £2.80
Naked Grouse - 40% Sherried and thick with notes of sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, raspberry jam, Victoria sponge, custard and crème caramel. £2.60
Compass Box The Peat Monster - 46% No one knows exactly what goes into this, the secret is closely guarded. All we know is its mainly Islay. Mostly peaty, but some smokey bacon and tropical notes. £5.00
Pig''s Nose - 40% Gristy and youthful, some fruit, barley malt, porridge. Young but very sweet. £3.00
Sheep Dip - 40% Rich, warming, malty. Young and spirity. £3.50
Snow Grouse - 40% A grain whisky, designed to be drank chilled. £2.60
Te Bheag - 40% Coffee and salt are very present with a hint of peat and some sweeter notes of caramel. £2.60

Akashi (Japan) - 40% Made from malt and grain whiskeys, this is a well balanced blend. £4.50
Bains Cape Mountain (South Africa) - 43% Single grain whisky produced in column stills. £3.70
Bushmills Black Bush (Ireland) - 40% Black Bush is a great blend from Bushmills, made up mostly of malt whiskey aged for 11 years in sherry casks before blending £2.80
Bushmills 10yr (Ireland) - 40% Thrice distilled and matured in two woods, this is a rich, smooth, single malt. £3.70
Connemara (Ireland) - 40% Well-smoked and peated, heather freshness and floral notes. £4.00
English (England) - 43% New make English malt spirit from the English Whisky Company range, this is the fourth chapter in the journey to a single malt. £4.50
Hakushu 12yr (Japan) - 43% This whisky hails from the Japanese distillery of Hakushu set in a forest and was once twice the size with an east and west distillery on the site. £6.30
Hibiki 12yr (Japan) - 43% Partly matured in plum liquor barrels and blended with a couple of other Japanese malts this is an amazing oriental concoction. £6.50
Isawa (Japan) - 40% Another exquisite blend from Japan. £3.80
Redbreast 12yr (Ireland) - 40% Redbreast is a beautifully balanced single pot still Irish whiskey, with a warm, generous texture, rich, sweet flavours and a spicy kick. £4.80
Kilbeggan (Ireland) - 40% Good body with honeyed sweetness and malt. The finish is short with oaked dryness. £3.00
Mackmyra Brukswhisky (Sweden) 41.4% Vanilla cream, hints of custard and fruit. Red berries, boiled sweets and a warm finish. £4.70
Nikka Straight From The Barrel (Japan) - 51.4% This Japanese Whiskey is rounded and exquisitely balanced. The smooth body, spice, toffee, compliment a caramel and ripe peach apricot finish. Don''t miss out. £6.00
Nikka Pure Malt White (Japan) - 43% Poised and slightly peaty. Pure Malt White is a blended malt with whisky from Nikka's range. £7.00
Nikka Black Label (Japan) - 40% A storming example of what Japanese whisky is truly capable of. £5.00

Tyrconnell (Ireland) - 40% Incredibly deep and smooth, all the satisfaction you would expect from an Irish whisky. £3.50
Teeling (Ireland) - 46% Rich palate with rose petal jelly and lemon curd. Vanilla, hints of dried herbs and cinnamon. £4.00
