Sous Chef

Salary package up to £28,000 plus tips and company benefits

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join our beautiful country pub restaurant The Old Windmill near Chelmsford.

As Sous Chef you'll be hands on to ensure the smooth running of our busy kitchen. That means you'll be cooking and working across all sections, but you'll also create the regularly changing, seasonal fresh food menu. We make almost everything from scratch so this is a role for a Sous Chef who really loves fresh ingredients and has a passion for flavours.

We're part of Brunning & Price, which means we have all the independence to run our pub and kitchen how we want, but with the support and stability of a rapidly growing big group backing us up whenever we need it.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, ideally in a premium pub
  • Great people manager with a focus on training and development
  • High standards of food hygiene and H&S
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about fresh food and quality ingredients
  • Strong grasp of stock, GP and labour control

Chef de Partie

Up to £24,000 plus paid overtime, great tips and excellent company benefits

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our lovely pub restaurant The Old Windmill in Chemsford.

As Chef de Partie you'll be an essential part of the kitchen team. That means you'll be cooking and working across all sections, but you'll also have an opportunity to contribute ideas for the 6-weekly changing, seasonal fresh food menu. We make almost everything from scratch so this is a kitchen for a Chef de Partie who really loves fresh ingredients and has a passion for flavours.

About you:

  • Solid experience in a fresh food kitchen
  • Able to handle a section on a busy service
  • Happy preparing fresh food dishes from scratch
  • Experience helping to ensure minimal wastage
  • High standards of food hygiene
