Welcome to the website for the Morris Dancer

The Morris Dancer can claim to be Kelsall's oldest surviving public house. For most of its history it has been known as The Globe and can be dated back to Cheshire records of the 1630s. Of the many historic landlords the most colourful and still well remembered was Brian "Rusty" Williams, the licensee from 1977-89, who renamed it The Morris Dancer in 1980. "Rusty" brought the annual Cheshire Folk Festival to Kelsall, reverting back to the classic traditions that once surrounded Inns, a tradition that is still upheld today.

You will find a large bar at the heart of the pub, stocked with local ales and a myriad of delights to take your fancy. There is a large, bright, high ceiling roomed to the rear, leading out onto our terrace and a small, cosy beamed bar room to the other side of the pub, so you can choose to sit wherever your mood takes you.

We have a Private Dining room that will happily seat sixteen in comfort, perfect for business meetings or for those cosy occasions when you want to be all together as a family or with friends.

Menus

Our passion lies in finding quality fresh ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way. Our menus have a spine of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world. We upload them to our web site each day before 12 noon so that you may peruse them at your leisure.

All our availability is online so please use this calendar to book. We do keep a handful of bar tables free for 'walk ins', so if you'd prefer to just pop in on the day and potentially don't mind a bit of a wait we’ll usually find a table for you.

We don't reserve any of our outside tables or picnic benches so if you enjoy a little alfresco dining these are first come first serve.

At busier times, we try our best to accommodate everyone, and it may be that your table has an additional booking later in the evening. You certainly won't be rushed, but if you feel like you may need longer than usual, that's no problem at all, please just let us know.

If you have a preference on where you'd like to sit, please use the comments section to specify and while we can't guarantee any requests we will do our best to accommodate you.

Unsubscribing from our mailing list and privacy

You may unsubscribe from our mailing lists at any time using the link in our emails. This will delete your details permanently from our list and prize draw selection. We will not pass your email address on to anyone and it will only be used by us while you are subscribed to the list.

Terms and conditions

  1. By adding your details to our mailing list you will be placed into a monthly draw. A winner is chosen at random by our computer system for each pub.
  2. Prize winners will receive an electronic, printable voucher, the value of which can be put towards any food and drink products sold in our pubs.
  3. Winners will receive notification via the email address registered.
  4. Winning vouchers expire 90 days after the prize draw date.
  5. No cash alternative will be given. Change will not be given for any unspent voucher value.
  6. We will use your contact information to keep you informed of news and events within our pubs only.
  7. If you have entered via a paper form in our pubs we do our best to have your details entered into our system within 28 days. If you have waited longer please feel free to re-enter your details directly into our website.
  8. Only one entry per person per pub
  9. The prize draw isn't open to employees of a respective pub mailing list
  10. We reserve the right to cancel or amend this promotion at any time
  11. Entrants must be over 18
  12. Your information has been collected and will be held by Brunning & Price Limited, Yew Tree Farm Buildings, Saighton, Chester, Cheshire, CH3 6EG. We will not pass your details on.
  13. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by using the unique link in our emails to you.
  14. If you have cause to complain, please contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
  15. By unsubscribing you will permanently delete your details from our database, thus removing yourself from the prize draw.
