About Us

Here is just a little info to let you get to know us better...

History

Here is little potted history of our pub and the local area... if you have a spare minute or two and maybe a cup of tea (or is that a G&T), we think it's well worth read.

If you'd like to put a name to a face, allow us to introduce you to the crew...

Kitchen

Chris

Head Chef

Christos or Akis (pronounced “A-kiss”) has moved to us from a large hotel kitchen and fine restaurant. It’s a shame he doesn’t work front of house, as his Greek charm and good looks would go down very well with the ladies. Fresh food is Chris's number one passion along with travelling and his coral reef. Yes, that's right a coral reef! you can check out his progress on Instagram @mireef20

Pete Hyde

Commis Chef

Pete started his White Horse life behind the bar looking after our guests as well as our ales, when lending a hand in the kitchen he found his calling and never looked back. A local lad there's not much about Beaconsfield Pete doesn't know.

Richard Meeds

Kitchen Porter

Richard is the other half of our Kitchen assistant dynamic duo! Like mark keeping our kitchen sparkling isn't the only string to his bow, Richard is also rather handy with a drill and a paintbrush and takes care of many of the odd jobs around the pub. Legend has it in a time long forgotten he worked in the pub as a 12-year-old boy restocking the bar in its original incarnation as The White Horse.

Mark Killingbeck

Kitchen Porter

Mark, is one half of our kitchen assistant dynamic duo and a big part of why the pub looks so good, if he's not washing the dishes you'll finding potting plants or trimming our bushes. When he's not at work you'll likely find him at the bar of one of Beaconsifled's many pubs conducting what he tells us is an extensive competition review.
