Maintenance

Tom

Gardener/Maintenance Person

Meet John (AKA Tom), he is a busy 35-year-old Dad of 4 beautiful children, 3 boys and 1 girl and soon to be a married man, after 15 years of being together. His working life so far, consists of numerous jobs; Landscaping, Electrician, Painting and Decorating, Maintenance, General labouring on construction sites, Gardening and the odd time being a Kitchen Porter.

He was Kitchen Porter here at the Roe Deer for 5 years before moving onto maintenance and gardening, which is far more his passion. He tells us he enjoys what I does, because it's a combination of things that he' s good at and he enjoys the simple things in life, like perfect stripes in lawns and spending time helping his family and friends, wood working, watching movies, listening to music on Spotify (he has nearly 3000 songs he enjoys singing along to!), playing video games (a self-confessed "nerd") and a good old bourbon whiskey sitting by the fire (possibly smoking a cigar).

That's Tom in a nutshell.

Rich

Gardener/Maintenance Person

Meet Rich, the dapper gent, who thrives on his passion for the great outdoors. Whether it's the adrenaline rush of speedway, watching his beloved Wolves, or going on a long distance bike ride, Rich is definitely at home when he is outside. When he's not on two wheels, or following the football, you'll find him rambling through the countryside (especially when there's a pub at the end of it) often to satisfy his love of real ale. Luckily for us, Rich also adores gardening and loves to see his hard work blossom here at the pub year after year. He has worked at the Roe Deer since it opened in 2019 and is always ready for the next challenge the job presents to him.

Rob

Gardener/Maintenance Person

Rob has previously worked for 30 years as a school caretaker and now shares his time between the Roe Deer and one of our sister pubs the Oakley Arms. He is always on hand to lend a hand and when not working at the pub can be found in his own back garden nursery make hanging baskets, cultivating plants or playing with wood.

Rob is a keen cyclist who also enjoys walking and the occasional pint of real ale or two.

His favourite quote and mantra is “Gardening is medicine that doesn't need a prescription and has no limits with dosage”.
