Ed's Crash Course in Wine
Thursday 30th April
Join us on Thursday 30th April at 7pm for ‘Ed’s Crash Course in Wine’, hosted by the wonderfully knowledgeable (and refreshingly down-to-earth) Ed Cross.
With over 30 years in the wine trade - including winemaking in Australia, France and New Zealand - Ed brings a wealth of experience, along with plenty of stories from his time in the industry (and, as he’ll tell you, a fair few from the nightlife of Manchester too).
This is not your typical wine tasting. Ed’s approach is relaxed, informal and entirely free from any wine snobbery. As he puts it, the evening will be “mildly educational, mildly entertaining and hopefully mostly enjoyable”, as he shares insights, busts a few myths and lets you in on some of the wine trade’s best-kept secrets.
Throughout the evening, you’ll explore topics such as:
How wine is made
The difference between Prosecco and Champagne
Key grape varieties (including some you may never have tried before)
How to taste wine - in Ed’s words, “it’s like having a cup of tea”
Pairing food and wine
To complement the experience, you’ll enjoy a delicious three-course meal, with each course paired with a wine so you can see first-hand how food and wine work together.
Tickets are £69.95 per person and can be booked below.
Whether you’re completely new to wine or already have a keen interest, it promises to be a fun evening with plenty to enjoy along the way.
