Sam

Manager

If there's one thing you'll quickly learn about Sam, it's that hospitality isn't just a career, it's very much in his DNA. His hospitality journey began at just 17, when he headed to Portugal, working across bars, clubs and restaurants. Back in the UK, Sam spent a decade with M&B before taking on the Lion at Edgmond alongside his partner, Laura. Together, they're parents to two little girls, and life has certainly kept them busy.

After navigating the pandemic and enjoying a brief change of direction outside hospitality, Sam found his way back to where he belongs, joining our sister pub, the Fox.

Now, he's taken on his biggest role yet as the man at the helm of the Oakley Arms, and we're delighted to have him leading the team. Full of energy, passionate about great food and drink, and never short of a quick one-liner, Sam brings plenty of personality wherever he goes. And when he's not working, you'll probably find him following his beloved Chelsea, a devotion so strong that he admits their matches can bring him to tears.

Mack

Senior Deputy Manager

Mackenzie, or Mack as we know her, joined our team in summer 2026, making the move over to us from our sister pub, the Red Lion. Although she's only been with us since the summer, she's already settled in like she's been part of the furniture for years and has quickly become a much-loved member of the crew.

Mack is never short of a story, a laugh or something to chat about, and there's rarely a dull moment when she's around. Outside of the pub, Mack is a self-confessed film enthusiast and takes her watching very seriously. If you're ever looking for something good to watch, she's definitely the person to ask! She's also a big fan of a good series, so when she's not watching a film, there's a good chance she's settled in for a binge-watch.

When she's not working or catching up on the latest film, you'll often find Mack enjoying good food and a few drinks with her family and friends. We're so pleased to have Mack with us. She's brought plenty of personality, plenty of laughs and, of course, plenty of film recommendations!

Ang

Supervisor

Angela has been with us since July 2016, joining shortly after we first opened our doors. A true team player and hard worker, she’s always ready to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.

A proud local, Ang has lived just up the road in Bishopswood for most of her life. When she’s not enjoying a well-earned cider at the pub, you’ll likely spot her out walking her beloved dogs, Jasper and Holly.

In her spare time, she keeps active with regular Zumba classes, dancing her way around the village hall with energy and enthusiasm.

Evie

Supervisor

Evie has been part of the Oakley Arms team since 2023, leading the way on all things marketing and social media. From promoting events to capturing the day-to-day buzz of the pub, she’s been instrumental in shaping how we connect with our customers and showcase what we do.

Alongside her role here, Evie is studying Marketing and Media at Keele University, bringing fresh ideas and creativity straight from her degree into the business. Her eye for detail and understanding of trends keeps everything feeling current and engaging.

Outside of work, Evie is a big Formula One fan, with a particular love for Ferrari — something that matches her fast-paced, driven approach to everything she takes on. She’s also partial to a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.

Josh

Supervisor

Meet Josh. He’s been part of the team for a year now and has fully cemented his place as our resident style icon, golf enthusiast, and all-round entrepreneur.

When he’s not busy smashing it at work, you’ll likely find him out on the course, running his own golf bag company, or working on his AI business. Safe to say, Josh likes to keep himself busy.

His love for golf isn't just talk, either. At this year's company golf day, Josh took home the 'Longest Drive of the Day' award, proving that his game is just as impressive as his collection of shirts.

A man of refined taste, his drink of choice is a crisp Camden IPA, best enjoyed after a long day. And if you ever need a dose of personality in the pub, just look for Josh - he's probably the one rocking a bold, funky shirt, talking about his latest business venture, and owning both with complete confidence.

Tiana

Supervisor

Tiana joined the Oakley Arms in 2025 and was instantly loved by the entire team. From her very first shifts, she brought a warm, positive energy that made her feel like she’d been part of the crew for years.

She approaches every shift with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed. Whether it’s a busy service or a quieter day, Tiana keeps things running smoothly while lifting the mood of those around her.

Outside of work, Tiana is dedicated to staying active and spends plenty of time at the gym, something that reflects her driven and focused mindset. But like anyone who works hard, she knows how to unwind too, often enjoying a well-earned, cheeky Prosecco after a shift.

Chris

Senior Chef de Partie

Chris began his journey in hospitality at just 16, quickly showing his potential and earning Chef of the Year at UCB early on. He went on to build his career in Birmingham, working his way up to Junior Sous Chef before stepping into a Sous Chef role, where he helped open a busy French bistro and gained valuable experience in a fast-paced kitchen.

Now part of the team at the Oakley, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge, a confident cooking style, and a real passion for bold, well-balanced flavours. He takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality dishes and being a strong presence in the kitchen.

His favourite dish to cook is a classic beef bourguignon, a perfect reflection of his love for rich, comforting flavours and refined technique. Outside of work, Chris enjoys rock music, sports, and spending time travelling with family — something that continues to inspire his approach to food. His drink of choice is a smooth Zinfandel, the perfect pairing to unwind after a busy service.

Logan

Chef de Partie

Logan has been working as a chef for the past four years, developing his skills in the kitchen and gaining experience in creating great food under pressure.

He's got an impressive 32 tattoos, and he can solve a Rubik's Cube in under a minute - a skill that's guaranteed to impress and keeps his problem-solving abilities sharp both in and out of the kitchen.

Outside of work, Logan likes to stay active and spends a lot of his free time in the gym. When he's not training, he values spending quality time with his family.

Whether he's in the kitchen, at the gym, or relaxing with family, Logan brings dedication and a positive attitude to everything he does. And after a busy shift, there's only one drink he reaches for: a classic Guinness, his firm favourite.

Josh

Commis Chef

Josh’s journey at the Oakley Arms shows real hard work and versatility. He started in front of house, bringing a friendly, welcoming energy to service, before moving into gardening and maintenance, where he’s helped keep everything looking its best behind the scenes.

More recently, Josh has taken on a new challenge in the kitchen, training as a chef while still supporting maintenance work. His willingness to learn and get stuck in makes him a great asset to the team.

Outside of work, he’s a proud Wolves fan and enjoys the gym, bringing the same energy and determination to both his fitness and his role at the Oakley Arms.

Will

Chef de Partie

Will is our youngest chef and has been part of the team since September 2025, and despite his young age he’s already settled into the rhythm of the kitchen by building his confidence with prep and service.

Outside of work, Will is big on the gym, he’s usually either training before a shift or talking about whatever session he’s got planned next. This discipline is definitely continued into how he approaches service: focused, energetic, and is always willing to push through a busy service without fuss.

When he’s off the clock, you’ll usually find him winding down with a Jubel after work and a well-earned laugh with the team. Although early in his journey, he’s got a solid attitude, good energy, and has grown into a reliable part of the kitchen crew.
