Stuart

Manager

Stuart is a B & P veteran having started out as Deputy Manager at the Pant yr Ochain in 2012. In order to gain more experience he decided to head out onto the roving circuit; 20+ pubs later he took up a permanent role as manager at the Rowbarge, Woolhampton. With a long-term goal of moving back to the north in mind, Stuart took one step closer by taking up the reins of the Falcon in Warmington. This was short lived however, as an opportunity to return to Bunbury, the village Stuart grew up in, to manage the Dysart arose.

We are fortunate here at the Mytton & Mermaid that Stuart loves a good challenge, as when offered the chance to be part of the restoration of our beautiful pub he just couldn't resist. Stuart, his wife, Jem, their two young children, Alfie and Poppy and not forgetting dog, Biscuit now reside locally and are very much enjoying exploring the wonderful county of Shropshire. They assure us this is their last move!

Em

Deputy Manager

Emerson started working for B&P in 2017 at the Inn at Shipley, loving the job he decided to stay within the company throughout his time at university studying nutrition, moving over to the Wharf where his confidence grew, turning him into the man he is today. Emerson joined the Oakley in June 2021 after lockdown where he took the management position in his stride. Since then he has now moved up and joined us at the Mytton as Deputy Manager. In his spare time you'll find him at the golf course or having a pint with his mates at the local pub.

Chris Cunnigham

Deputy Manager

Chris has joined our Mytton family, looking for a new adventure moving from our sister pub the Roe Deer, with a wealth of experience within hospitality. He has hit the deck running at the speed of light! Chris has quickly become known as a joker, like a breath of fresh air when he comes on shift, with a big smile and warm nature. Don’t be fooled though, this guy knows what hard-work is and how to get the job done. Chris doesn’t really do down-time, with 2 young daughters to run around after, Lily and Amelia; he and his lovely wife Steph are always off on some adventure!

Emma

Deputy Manager

Emma may be a familiar face at the Mytton & Mermaid, she joins us with a wealth of local knowledge having worked at the pub under its previous owners. She found her home behind the bar and has worked up to Deputy Manager. Emma's two children take up most of her time outside of work but she still finds time to relax with her favourite drink, a proper cup of strong tea.

Lucinda

Deputy Manager

Lucinda is no stranger to the B&P family having previosuly worked at the Combermere and Grosvenor Arms. This is where her confidence grew and she took the plunge into management. Lucinda is plant crazy and has filled her house to be a resemblance of a jungle! When she's not pouring a pint or shaking a cocktail she is is exploring the UK's countryside with her partner Adrian and her crew of pooches- Minnie, Becky and Finn.

James

Deputy Manager

James is a new friendly face to the B&P family. Having being in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. His passion has taken him abroad including working in Europe and the Southern Hemisphere following his passion for food, wine and best standards of customer service. His favourite location he's worked at 'Blanket Bay' in New Zealand.

In James spare time you will find him sat at his drum kit having qualifications and diplomas within percussion, where he has performed at a professional level within private orchestras.

James is a food and wine fanatic so any questions, he is your man!

Stacey

Deputy Manager

Stacey is no stranger to Brunning & Price, having spent over 10 years working across the North before eventually settling here at The Mytton and Mermaid!

When she isn’t working, you’ll find Stacey travelling, with Thailand being her favourite destination — particularly Koh Lipe. She enjoys nothing more than soaking up the sunshine on the beach with a drink in hand! We’re super lucky to have Stacey settled here at The Mytton and Mermaid; she brings great energy, plenty of coffee and, of course, lots of matcha!

Kristie

Deputy Manager

Krissy has been a part of Brunning & Price for many years, progressing over at our sister pub The Fox before joining us here for our opening in 2023.

Krissy loves to travel, recently coming back from doing a year in Australia and sightseeing all over Asia, she's slotted back into our team like she never left!

When she's not working, she loves nothing more than weekend getaways, walking her dog Storm or drinking a Guinness in the pub watching the football!

Ted

Assistant Manager

Ted has been with B&P for three fun-filled years. He kicked things off with us at our opening for a year, before moving over to our sister pub, The Oakley Arms, where he started his management career. We've recently got him back working with us here and we are very lucky to have him! His smiley face and infectious personality bring great energy to those around him.

When he's off the clock, Ted's all about keeping active... or at least trying to. You'll catch him throwing darts, chasing footballs, or hacking his way around the golf course (badly, but with great enthusiasm). When he's not on the move, he's winding down with a bit of fishing or sharing a glass of wine with his mum, a tradition he proudly owns and absolutely recommends.

Emily

Trainee Assistant Manager

In between travelling the world, Emily is part of our management team. Emily joined us when we reopened, and a lot of you will already be familiar with her infectious smile!

Over the last three years, Emily has worked hard and is now a trainee assistant manager. If she's not travelling or working, Emily enjoys taking her dog Hector for a walk and spending time with her friends and family.

Emma

Supervisor

Emma has hospitality experience galore! She made the move to join us here at The Mytton and Mermaid last October, and what an impression she's made. She's recently been promoted to supervisor and is smashing her new role. She's the 'Mum' of our team, with the warmest vibe and a great work ethic. She's a real credit to our crew.

Leah Cookson

Front Of House

Leah joined us more recently after we opened as part of our housekeeping team, she then progressed into floor crew and now currently works in both departments. Leah is currently studying to become a primary school teacher- as helping to support childcare for her nieces Freya and Lyla made her figure this was what she was comfortable doing.

Gareth

Doorman

Gareth spent 34 years previously working as a police officer based in London and Hampshire, his favourite station being Baker Street. Gareth also worked at Wormwood Scrubs for 5 years locking up lots of famous people-Reggie Kray. Gareth is a proud dad to his two kids Sian and Gareth and his two furry companions Dio and Nanouk. Gareth has won two bravery awards by the royal humane society.

Luke

Head Chef

Luke joined us in January 2017 but is no stranger to the world of B&P. Luke has been with the company since 2011 and through hard work and passion for great food, he's worked his way up the ranks. Luke has helped train and open all our new pub kitchens, locally the Oakley Arms in Brewood and the Physician in Birmingham and also run the kitchen at the Woodbridge Inn, Coalport. Luke is a rising star in B&P and we are extremely lucky to have his talent here at the Mytton & Mermaid. When not behind the pass he enjoys letting someone else cook for a change and is an avid Ed Sheeran fan.

Kyle

Senior Sous Chef

Kyle joined us two years ago as a breakfast chef. With years of kitchen experience, he quickly climbed up the ranks and is now our senior sous chef!

Kyle is loved by everyone who works with him. He's easy-going, approachable and a great listener, making him a real favourite among the team.

When Kyle's not at work, he loves taking his dog Ozzy for long walks with his girlfriend!

Graham

Gardener/Maintenance Person

You may recognise Graham from outside the pub as one of our gardeners. He has 20+ years of gardening experience including running his own business. Our plants certainly are well looked after! When he's not out in the garden he keeps himself extremely active by running and mountain biking. In his 'spare' time he builds and renovates campervans
