Burns Night ~ Saturday 24th January
Saturday 24th January
On Saturday 24th January , we’ll be giving a nod to Rabbie Burns with a three-course menu of traditional Scottish-inspired dishes , available alongside our daily menu...
Welcome
The George and Dragon inhabits a beautiful building set on the banks of the river Stour in picturesque Fordwich, just four miles from Canterbury. Fordwich, the smallest town in Britain, just oozes history, and the pub has been at the centre of community life for centuries.
You'll find log fires burning, lots of cosy corners to lock yourself away, and a well stocked bar right at the heart of things.
Our chefs create delicious seasonally inspired menus in the style of modern British cookery, always including hearty pub classics as well as introducing something a little different, or a little lighter for all occasons.
We look forward to welcoming you,
Diana and the George & Dragon team.

Our passion lies in finding quality fresh ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way. Our menus have a spine of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world. We upload them to our web site each day so that you may peruse them at your leisure.

AllTrails have kindly created a circular walk from the pub to help you work up that thirst/appetite. You can view the walk details via any of the routes below. (varying levels of tech savviness required -Ed)
The George & Dragon, Stour Valley and Canterbury an AllTrails walk
We’re lucky to have lots of attractions close by, so we thought we’d put a list together, in case you fancied heading along to one before or after you visit us.
Things to do near usWe have Dune joining us for our New Years celebration, so if you’ve celebrated with us before, you’ll know exactly what’s in store – bubbles flowing, tunes that refuse to let you sit down, and dancing that somehow makes 1am arrive far too soon. If you haven’t been before, you’re in for something rather special. Tickets are £82.95 per person and include a glass of fizz on arrival,... read more on our page
