Beer, Brewery and Pies

We’re delighted to be hosting a very special, first-time event here at The Highwayman where we take you for a day out to Bowness Bay Brewery.

Your day will begin at the pub at 10:30am, where we’ll gather for a bacon butty and a hot drink to set us up for the day ahead (or perhaps something a little stronger - it is the weekend after all). From there, we’ll hop on the coach and head over to the brewery.

On arrival, we’ll be welcomed by Rick and the team, who will guide us through the brewery, sharing the story behind Bowness Bay and the craft that goes into every pint. You’ll have the chance to explore the brewing process up close, with tastings along the way - from beer at fermentation stage through to the finished product - and plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

After the tour, we’ll make our way to the Barrel House to enjoy a couple of well-earned ales from their excellent range - the perfect way to round off our visit before heading back.

We’ll return to The Highwayman at around 3:30pm, where a proper pie and a pint will be waiting for you - a fitting end to a day dedicated to great beer.
