Latest news from the pub
Now as the summer is coming to an end and we are easing ourselves into what will hopefully be a beautiful Autumn filled with hot drinks, winter warmers, crisp walks and roaring fires we have lots of news to fill you in on and some exciting plans we would like to share with you to get you in the mood……
News from the Highayman
Wow, it’s so good to be back and wonderful to see so many new and familiar faces at The Highwayman, we really have missed you all! It is so lovely to have the team back together again after months apart. We kept ourselves busy though through lockdown, patiently waiting until we could be reunited with you all again.
We hosted a pub quiz for the village every Friday night run by our very own quiz master Liam and Aimee. We had a 21st birthday party for Becca who sadly couldn’t have the big bash she wanted but we threw her a virtual one and I think lambing season kept her busy up on the farm! Cressie became an auntie to the lovely Agnes, Sinead of course was spending as much time as possible with her lovely horses and we hiked … we hiked a lot.
Aimee climbed up Scafell to celebrate her birthday in June, Rich climbed everything and anything, Elliott completed all of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, Will and Alfie conquered Helvellyn and that’s just naming a few!
We said goodbye to our hockey superstar Issy who has gone to University in Connecticut but you will see her again at Christmas. Becca is also leaving us for university in Manchester but will be staying in the Brunning and Price family and joining one of our sister pubs the Wharf so if you happen to be in the city pop by and see her!
We have some new faces joining the team, Alex and Daisy have returned to us and Sarah has now joined us all the way from Dublin. What Sarah and Alex don’t know about wine isn’t worth knowing, so expect to see some really exciting wines coming to the Highwayman this September for you to try!
We have also had Pat, Jay, Liv, Caitlin and Hannah join our front of house team who have really hit the ground running with how busy we have been, they have all settled in really well into the Highwayman family. We also have a new kitchen superhero with Daniel joining Rich and the gang.
It has been a pretty busy first month back here at the Highwayman.

We are so excited to get the Char Grill back in full force, with a great selection of tipples, wines and ales to wash all this down with.
