The Armoury is a city pub writ large – it’s a truly impressive space, illuminated with lovely windows looking out over the river, with a good bar and massive bookcases, but it is never intimidating – Sunday lunch here with the family feels just like a pub lunch should feel like – the people on the tables around are warm and chatty, and there’s a lovely atmosphere throughout.
Theatre Severn
There’s a lot of excitement in the air over the opening of Theatre Severn, just over the bridge on the opposite bank of the river. It is 255 metres from the front door of the theatre to the Armoury, which takes 2 minutes and 13 seconds without rushing (just over a minute if you’re desperate for a beer). We’ve applied for a late license so running over after a production shouldn’t be necessary.
