Assistant Manager

Salary package £18,000-£22,000 plus benefits

We’re looking for an additional Assistant Manager to join us at the Rowbarge, who will be a key member of the pub management team and will be expected to support the manager and deputy managers in many aspects of the day to day running of the pub.

The role will be very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day pub administration.

Being an Assistant Manager is an ideal opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of every aspect of pub life. We see our assistant managers as the first step on the pub management career ladder and we always try to promote from within when we can, so this position could lead to other opportunities within the company.

You’ll need to be a real foodie; have a real knowledge and passion for decent beer and wine; enjoy looking after others and help build and direct a happy crew.

Kitchen

Sous Chef

Salary package £23,000 - £26,000 plus tips & company benefits. 

Our menu has a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world: in other words, modern British cookery. Our passion lies in finding quality ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way.

We are looking for a Sous Chef with excellent cooking skills, experience in helping to set and achieve GP percentages and the ability to manage high volumes with the right standards of quality and consistency.

Together with the head chef you will help write the menus, assist in sourcing ingredients from the best suppliers and set and maintain the highest standards of food quality and consistency. You’ll also need to help to efficiently run service in the head chef’s absence and so your kitchen management and organisational skills will be of paramount importance.

As a Sous Chef we’ll reward you with a salary package £23,000 - £26,000 and you’ll be part of a successful, growing company who have been awarded Pub Group of the Year on five occasions.

Chef de Partie

Salary starting from £19,000 - £21,000 plus paid overtime, tips and company benefits. 

All of our pubs are featured in the Good Pub Guide and for us it’s all about serving fresh, simple, high quality traditional dishes extremely well. Our menus have a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world – in other words, modern British cookery.

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie who will help set the highest standards of food quality and consistency. This is a busy working environment, and as well as having high standards and demonstrating good attention to detail, you’ll help the crew set the bar high in terms of cooking delicious dishes, maintaining effective kitchen controls and adhering to excellent standards of health and hygiene.

The potential here is enormous and we’re looking for an ambitious and committed chef with a passion for good food who is ready to take the next step in their career. We provide all our chefs with real opportunities to develop with us into a senior chef role with training and support in place for you along the way.

Depending on your experience, we’ll reward you with a salary starting from £19,000 - £23,000 plus paid overtime, tips and company benefits and you’ll be part of a successful, growing company who have been awarded Pub Group of the Year on five occasions.

Kitchen Porter

Hourly rate plus benefits

We are looking for a part time and a full time Kitchen Porter to work alongside our busy team of chefs during our particularly busy times – evenings, weekends and lunchtimes.

Duties will be varied and after initial training will include helping to keep the kitchen clean, operating the dishwasher, hand dish washing and some basic food preparation.

Previous experience is not required although enthusiasm and a genuine interest in working in a busy kitchen with high standards of food hygiene is essential.
