Deputy Manager

Salary package from £22,000 up to £27,000 plus tips and company benefits

We are looking for an experienced Assistant / Deputy Manager to join the crew at the Rowbarge, Woolhampton.

As Assistant / Deputy Manager, you won't carry the full weight of responsibility but you’ll be helping to run a substantial business and will be the manager's right-hand person - making decisions and directing things on a daily basis.  The role is very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day financial administration. 

As well as helping to select wines and beers, you’ll join in with menu development with the chef team and above all, be recognised as a natural, charismatic and friendly host with a big front of house character who genuinely enjoys looking after people and providing great service. 

We need someone who has a real eye for the detail together with management experience in a similar pub or restaurant environment.  You’ll need to have a strong passion for, and sound knowledge of, quality food, menu development, cask ales, beers, wines and spirits.

Our service style is informal and friendly and so on a personal note, we look for confident and outgoing individuals with a great sense of humour and the ability to help build, lead and inspire a successful team.  

Being an Assistant / Deputy Manager is an ideal opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of every aspect of pub life and we provide structured training and development along the way.  We see our Deputy Managers as our Managers of the future, and try to promote from within whenever we can.  Our rate of growth means that there are exciting opportunities springing up all the time which means this is an excellent stepping stone on the road to developing a rewarding career in pub management.

We’ll reward you with a salary package starting from £22,000 up to £27,000 per annum plus tips and company benefits and you’ll be part of a successful, growing company who have been awarded Pub Group of the Year on many occasions.

The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills with one or more years’ experience in a similar customer facing role, working as part of a team in a busy food led environment.
