Elegant and less weighty

A classic Languedoc wine made for easy drinking. Appealing, velvet-smooth quaffer that, strangely enough, tastes of grapes.

Smooth and earthy

Warm and spicy

This is a great example of the Merlot grape; warm, ripe and smooth with excellent fruit flavours.

Very warm and peppery on the nose, packed full of cherry flavours with a great spicy finish.

One of the most famous of the French reds, this is an exquisite example of this brilliant wine. Soft berries are in abundance on the nose, with ripe fruit and a touch of black pepper on the palate, finished with an elegant, clean finish.

Cracking French Merlot. Apologies for the new-world style name, but this wine is packed with jammy flavours of young, ripe fruit.
Pinot Noir, Tindall, New Zealand		27.95
From the heart of the Marlborough region. This wine has aromas of cranberry, plum and cherry. The palate is elegant and lasting. The real stuff.
Rich and plummy
Zinfandel, Cline, California		24.50
Full of all the model characteristics one would expect from a Californian Zinfandel. A luscious fruity, spicy nose repeated on the palate, finished with depth and structure.
Malbec, Alamos, Argentina		19.50
Dark violet, almost blackish in colour. Full and soft with blackberry fruit flavours.
Cotes du Rhone Village, Khayyam 2005, France		23.95
True class. A very carefully structured wine, even down to the vinification. Full bodied, yet well balanced and oozing finesse.
Chateau Grand Barrail, St Emillion Grand Cru 1998, Bordeaux		54.95
Superior. It sounds posh and tastes posher. Displaying all those qualities one looks for from a Bordeaux of this quality. Plum and damson on the nose, rich yet earthy on the palate and a long, complex finish.

A wine with a stunning violet colour, intense floral bouquet and a burst of red fruits and soft tannins.
Simonsig Tiara 2000, South Africa		25.95
A multi-award winning wine using a Boreaux blend, grown under the sun of one of South Africa's top wineries. A deep silky red with a long, complex structure. Serious stuff.
Robust and full-bodied

An amazing wine. A prime example giving the charachteristic velvet smoothness and depth. Great cherry and plum pudding flavours with the softest of tannins.

A stage on from the Ripassa, this sumptuous wine has benefitted from time in oak to bring out the Christmas cake, dark chocolate flavours from the wine. The king of reds without doubt.

A powerful smooth and rich wine with a complex nose and flavours of red fruit, cherries and spice.
False Bay Pinotage, South Africa.	3.25	17.95
A stunner, very special indeed. A hugely spicy fun-packed mouthful of a wine with a slightly tobacco-ish finish. Lingering is not the word.
Rosé

A very approachable blush. Plenty of fresh fruity notes followed by an uncomplicated, dry finish.

A mix of Merlot and Cabernet grapes, beautifully dark and pink in colour. Pronounced strawberries and cream intensity on the palate and finish.

Tavel is the premiere rosé of France, and is dry, fruity and full. A superb all-round food wine, highly recommended, even by gentlemen..
