Front of house

Assistant Manager

Salary package up to £20,000 per annum plus benefits.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager here at the Pant yr Ochain.

As well as having a big front of house character and good knowledge of food, wine and cask ales you'll need to understand and love pubs, take real pleasure in making people happy and play a full role in helping with all aspects of running the pub alongside the pub management team.

This is an ideal opportunity to gain great knowledge and experience -we see our assistant managers as the first step on the pub management career ladder and we always try to promote from within when we can.

The Pant yr Ochain is a picture postcard manor house with a long sweeping drive and majestic trees, overlooking a small lake surrounded by hills and hollows. Inside it's the same thing - a 16th Century inglenook fireplace, nooks and crannies everywhere and history seeping through its veins.

The bar is at the heart of the building with six cask ales on tap, a back shelf crammed with Malts and an extensive wine list. Our menu has a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world - in other words, modern British cookery.

Kitchen

Junior Sous Chef

Salary package circa £22,000 + tips + company benefits + accommodation*

We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef with excellent cooking skills, experience in helping to set and achieve GP percentages and the ability to manage high volumes with the right standards of quality and consistency.

Together with the head chef you will help write the menus, assist in sourcing ingredients from the best suppliers and set and maintain the highest standards of food quality and consistency. You’ll also need to help to efficiently run service in the head and sous chef’s absence and so your kitchen management and organisational skills will be of paramount importance.

As a Junior Sous Chef we’ll reward you with a competitive salary package and you’ll be part of a successful, growing company who have been awarded Pub Group of the Year on many occasions.
