A light, easy drinking wine with delicate tones reminiscent of peach leaves, nutmeg and blueberry, leading to an agreeable dry flavour with an almond aftertaste.
Crisp and dry

Floral aromas and fresh fruit flavours with clean citrusy acidity on the palate make this a very refreshing wine.

This is concise, fresh and light with an instantly recognisable French Sauvignon style.

The Grillo grape is largely unheard of, but here it is in all its fresh, vibrant and sherbetty fruit glory. A refreshingly snickety wine.
Alain Grignon Viognor 2007. France		19.95
A wonderfully fragrant and intense Viognier. Aromas of lychees and pears are balanced on the fruity palate by a crisp, refreshing acidity.
Dezzani Gavi Costa Mezzana 2007. Italy		25.00
Pale straw colour, with delicate greenish highlights. Intense fruit and floral fragrance. On the palate it is strongly typical of Gavi: fruity and flinty with notes of almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts lingering in the finish.
Domaine Vincent Delaport Sancerre. France		30.00
This clear crisp flavoured wine offers a lemon-peel tang with Classic sauvignon Blanc aromas. Well matched with light seafood and white fish.
Clean but rounded

Vistamar Chardonnay has nice aromas of peach, apple and herb with a creamy, full-bodied and slightly buttery palate. A good everyday drinking Chilean Chardonnay with lots of varietal characteristics.

The Curico Valley has long been recognised as a leading region for Sauvignon Blanc and this is a perfect example, being intensely fruity and sultry with refreshing flavours.

This has lovely grapey Muscat fruit on the nose with good weight and flavour in the mouth. The ripe fruit is balanced by good acidity.
Sipp Mack Riesling 2004. France		25.50
A delightful nose of green apples balanced by a crisp and racey acidity that really refreshes the palate. Great to drink by itself but at its best when served with white meats and fish.
Maison Champy Pernand-Vergelesses 2004.France		29.95
Golden yellow in the glass, Pernand Vergelesses Village is a fresh and exciting wine, with a complex and clean style controlled with a good acidity. A hint of fatness and fruit gives a luxurious edge. This is excellent affordable drinking Burgundy. .

A delicate white, full of flavour with lots of tropical fruits and limes evident and a reviving finish.
Slowine Chenin Sauvignon. South Africa		17.50
Chenin grows superbly in South Africa and blending with a hint of Sauvignon makes it even better. Floral overtones, with a crisp Granny Smith's edge on the palate.
Les Burdines Mâcon-Villages.France		19.95
This is a serious white Burgundy with refreshing lemon fruit flavours cut through by a complex mineralic streak, with a deliciously long finish.
Maison Darragon Vouvray 2007. France		25.50
A full and luscious bouquet with hints of apple backed by more complex aromas lead to a ripe and ample palate with just a trace of sweetness to help carry the enormous fruit flavour and balanced by a perfect level of acidity to refresh the palate.

Quite fruity with an airy, even layered quality to the nose, This brut is fine-textured and exudes apple berry notes on a light-bodied frame. Nice crisp finish.
Camille savès Rose. France		42.00
A terrific brut rosè made from grand cru fruit. Made in a more traditional style, this mineral- driven champagne boasts bright red berries and a terrific acidic spine.
Taittinger Brut. France		53.50
This straw yellow coloured champagne with a nice toasty, yeasty finish. Why drink anything else.

A bright, intense ruby red colour wine with a slightly grassy fragrance with a velvety, warm and evenly balanced flavour.
Warm and Spicy
R. and M. Merlot. Australia	2.90	15.95
This is Merlot to the very bottom of its soft, warm, velvet boots. One of our best value wines, simple as that.
Witt's End Shiraz. Australia	3.50	19.95
A great example of Ozzie Shiraz. Deep red in colour, packed with aromas of spices, berries and vanilla with a full and pleasing length. No wonder it's returned to our list.
Chateau Les Amoureuses 2005. Cotes du Rhone. France		29.50
An intense wine with a seductive nose, an explosion of berries and ripe fruit, delicate tannins and a sensational finish. Similar to Muhammad Ali, it floats like a butterfly and.you know the rest.
Smooth and Earthy
Campo Lagaza Tempranillo Navarra. Spain	2.70	14.95
The new favourite of the bar staff: this has very soft berry juicy with distinctive Tempranillo notes of damsen and cloves.
Vistamar Sepia Pinot Noir. Chile	3.60	19.95
Cherries persist on the palate, masterfully combined with subtle oak character to create a flavoursome wine with an elegant finish.
Sierra Cantabria Cosecha Rioja 2006.Spain	3.70	20.50
Ruby red with light violet in the edges of the glass. On the nose the aroma has raspberries and blackberries of nice intensity with hints of coffee, toasted notes and vanilla. In the mouth it is well structured with balanced tannins, alcohol acidity and fresh mature fruit in perfect harmony.
Lar de Lares 2002 Reserva Bodegas Inviosa. Spain		26.00
Powerful, ample and full-bodied wine made exclusively from Tempranillo. The fruit is beautifully integrated and the finish is soft and long.
Nexus Cabernet Sauvignon 2004. Italy		25.50
Intense red ruby colour with violet tints. Various notes of raspberries, blackcurrants and blackberries with a gentle touch of vanilla and liquorice.
Muga Rioja Reserva, 2003. Spain		30.50
As expected lots of oak and delicious vanilla overtones backed up with some juicy strawberry fruits. This is a big, fat Rioja, just as it should be.
Elegant and Light
Serenata Nero d'Avola. Sicily		16.45
'Italy's rising star', made with Nero d'Avola grapes, which are indigenous to the sun-baked island of Silcily. Nero is packed with red berry friut flavours and is soft and approachable.
Mannucci Droandi Chianti. Italy		25.00
An lovely ruby-coloured Chianti showing classic aromas of cherries, wild berries and a hint of vanilla which follows through to the palate. Old school Chianti that avoids the awful jamminess that has crept in elsewhere in Tuscany.
Rich and Plummy

Deep coloured red with a complex fruit aroma, it has vivid fruit characters with spicy, jammy flavours. Good spread on toast.

Great deep bright purple colour. Rich fruity & concentrated spicy nose. Loads of full rich smooth flavour in the Mouth. Soft & full of flavour with long aftertaste. A sumptuous wine that just lasts & lasts. A superb South African Shiraz..
Capell's Court Shiraz 2007. South Africa	3.60	19.95
Dense and concentrated with a potent core of currant, black plums, nuts and juicy summer fruits stacked up, finishing with a sweeter, spicy edge and soft but plush tannins. It all comes together nicely on the harmonious finish.
Fournier Malbec Urbain Uco 2008 Argentina	3.70	20.50
Deep purple colour with a spicy and floral nose. On the palate it's full-bodied with ripe fruits and has a long finish.
Beaujolais-Villages 2003. Chateau de Bel Avenir France		20.95
Fresh and fruity with a redcurrant infused nose and a light-bodied, soft palate with strawberry fruit and cranberry flavours, showing all the youthful charm that typifies the Beaujolais region.
Chateau de Maison Neuve Grand Bordeaux 2002. France		26.50
This area of Saint Emilion produces wines which are rich but never heavy, with lots of fruit and a woody nuances. The nose is intense and fruit-dominated, leading to a complex palate with dark berry fruit and a long wooded finish. .
Dark and Satanic
Primitivo Di Puglia 2008. Italy		16.45
Incredible depth of colour, with perfumes of spicy, ripe, black cherries and a hint of liquorice on the nose. On the palate it is full-bodied yet well structured, with full flavours of ripe black fruit, chocolate and some elements of turned earth.
Paul Cluver The Elgin Blend 2004. South Africa		24.50
The wine shows a combination of plum and dark berry flavours on the nose, with hints of chocolate and mocha flavours. The palate is packed with fruit and shows great texture combined with densely structured tannins. The aftertaste expresses the sweet soft fruit carried through from the nose and is enhanced by the densely structured tannins.
Zenato Ripassa Valpolicella 2006. Italy		33.25
Deep ruby-red in color with a complex nose of dried fruit and liquorice. The wine offers rich aromas of blackberry jam, currant, chocolate, coffee and tar that linger on the palate and are sustained by a round and structured body.
Dessert Wine
Aresti Late Harvest Gewurztraminer. Chile		15.00
With a golden yellow colour, this reveals flowers, spices and caramel on the nose. On the palate, well-balanced sugar and acidity make it fresh and easy to drink. (37.5cl).
