Welcome to the website for The Clog & Billycock
We're thrilled to have recently taken the Clog and Billycock as one of the latest additions to the Brunning and Price family.
The Clog and Billycock has been in the village of Pleasington for over 150 years and we're looking forward to being part of its next chapter. It started life as the 'Bay Horse' but changed its name in 1973 in honour of its former characterful Landlord, Alfred Pomfret who always wore Clogs and a Billycock behind the bar, so we felt it only fitting to retain the name.
We are currently in the throes of renovation, sensitively marrying up the old with new before we reopen in a few weeks' time. To give you an insight into our plans, you'll find us traditional in style, with open fires, wooden floors, bookcases, decent old furniture and lots of rugs and plants. We'll be cosying up the bar area creating lovely places to sit and eat or to simply enjoy a drink, with the bar at the heart of all things to become the centre of local life. The bar will be at the heart of things with an array of cask ales, shelves full of gins and whiskies and a list of around 50 or so wines. We're so chuffed to say that we'll be a 'Freehouse' when we reopen and will have 7 cask ales on the hand pumps at any one time.
Outside, we will add some colour to the flower beds, along with some new furniture and a lovely outside fire to sit beside to keep warm when there's a nip in the air.
