Keeping everyone safe
amidst the Coronavirus pandemic
We just wanted to let you know about a few changes we’ve made, which we hope you’ll find reassuring in these times, so here’s a little summary.
Much as we could all do with a hug, please respect yours and others personal space by maintaining a social distance where possible.
We will be asking customers to wait at the door for a member of crew to take you to your table, and to sanitise your hands on the way into the pub. The reason for this is so we can take the time to explain how things work and to also keep an eye on the number of people we have in the pub at any one time.
Our crew will be wearing masks. Customers are also asked to wear masks when they enter the pub and when moving around in order to be seated, when leaving and visiting the toilets. Whilst seated at a table masks can be removed. Customers in the garden do not need to wear masks, but do if they enter the pub at any time.
We are currently only able to accept bookings for up to 6 people both inside and outside the pub. These 6 people, including adults and children, can be from multiple households. We also need to ensure you’re fed and watered by 10pm.
Please note, the above changes apply here as we are in a tier 1 area. However, if you live in a tier 2 or 3 area, please follow the rules for your tier.
At busy times, those without prior bookings may be asked to queue and as much as we’ll try our best to get everyone a table, it may not always be possible, in order to keep everyone safe.
We want to reassure you that there’s regular cleaning going on in the pub; all our crew will be washing their hands every twenty minutes and sanitising ‘touch points’ every half an hour. The tables and chairs will be cleaned after each customer. At every step, we’ll be following the highest of cleaning standards throughout the pub and in the kitchen.
Service at table
We’ll do our utmost to keep a safe distance where possible when taking orders and serving your table.
You’ll notice some changes to the way we’re laying the tables. To reduce the ‘contact’ with cutlery, we’re placing the knives, forks, and napkins in tankards and placing them on your table. The same goes for the salt and peppers, which will be cleaned after every use.
Space between tables
We wanted to reassure you that care and consideration has gone into spacing the distance between the tables and positioning of the chairs.
Menus will only be used once and recycled afterwards.
Much as life usually revolves around the bar, please resist the temptation to pop to it, we’ll look after you at the table.
Cashless and Tips
To reduce the handling of cash, we’ve gone ‘cashless’. We kindly ask you to use contactless wherever possible. If you would like to leave a tip, there’s now an option to do so when you’re paying your bill.
The little touches (that are often touched a lot) – may not be quite as prevalent just now. Things like the newspapers, board games, dog biscuits, leaflets - we’ve popped them away for the time being, we hope you understand.
Toilets will be regularly cleaned and numbers visiting them at any one time will be restricted.
Following a small hiatus on issuing Meal Tickets, they are now back.
As a little reminder, you receive a Meal Ticket for each main course or light bite purchased at full price. Six tickets can then be exchanged for any main course up to £12 from Monday to Thursday (excluding Bank Holidays, set menus and ticketed events).
Expiry date extension: As you haven’t been able to redeem tickets for the last 5 months, we will add 5 months onto the redemption period for any that you currently have. For example, any ticket that expires in November 2020 will be honoured up until the end of April 2021.
Government Test and Trace Scheme
We will ask for contact details from a member of each party as per the Government steer to collect information to ‘Test and trace’ if needed.
Children and dogs
Much as they like to, please don’t let them wander. Play equipment in our gardens are also temporarily out of action.
Our outside tables are not available to book, however a controlled queuing system will be in place at busy times.
We also respectfully ask that you don’t move tables around, they have been positioned with thought.
