It's great to be open, but from Friday 4th December, only until 6pm.

Well, the latest Welsh Government announcement wasn’t quite the news we were hoping for! Looking for the positives, at least we’re still able to open our doors…but from Friday 4th December it will only be until 6pm.

Unfortunately, we can’t serve any alcohol from then either, which is far from ideal in a pub! Still, we hope the need of a pint won’t stop you coming to see us. These rules are being reviewed on the 17th December, so let’s keep everything crossed for more positive news then.

We plan to keep our “Click and Collect” meals going throughout the week during the hours we’re open and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings we will extend that until 8pm.

In terms of booking sizes, things stay as they were; 4 people can meet from different households and this doesn’t include children under 11 – so two couples can meet, along with their under 11-year-old children. You currently need to show a bank card or the likes as ID.

Also, if you live in a single household you will be able to have a table larger than 4, so long as you all live under the same roof in Wales. The same guidelines apply for outside too. Currently all adults need to show they live under the same roof in Wales, so please bring something official along, like your driving licence.

Tables of up to 4 can be booked online here. For tables over 4, please call us on 01978 780 380.

Just as a reminder, when you visit us, please wear your masks when not seated at your table.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Often you can come to our pub on a sunny evening, sit in the conservatory looking up the river, and watch the fishermen in their waders casting flies for salmon. Inside there is a warren of lovely little rooms to dine or drink, many with inviting real fires and at the heart of the pub, a well-stocked bar, serving local ales and a great range of spirits and wines.

Our menus have a spine of modern British cookery and range from hearty dishes to lighter bites. Our chefs change them regularly to reflect the changing seasons, using locally sourced produce wherever possible.

We pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome and look forward to seeing our regular customers and meeting new ones.

Our passion lies in finding quality fresh ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way. Our menus have a spine of classic British dishes complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world. We upload them to our web site each day before 12 noon so that you may peruse them at your leisure.
