Front of house

Manager

Salary package up to £40,000 plus good quality accommodation

Due to several planned new pub openings and an internal transfer we are looking for an experienced manager at the White Hart in Sevenoaks; a warm and charismatic host who can take up the reins and make this characterful pub their own.  Running a Brunning and Price pub restaurant is no mean feat. As the manager, you will have overall responsibility for developing your own fresh food menus, choosing your beers and wines, negotiating prices with suppliers and driving a substantial and profitable business.

 

Aside from the knowledge and experience to run a successful business at senior level with an eye for detail, you'll need to be a real foodie with in-depth experience in a fresh food pub restaurant environment. It goes without saying that you'll also need a passion and sound knowledge of cask ales and wines of the world, and be entrepreneurial at heart with proven financial expertise and business acumen. Most importantly of course, you'll need to be a natural and charismatic host, enjoy looking after others and be able to lead a happy crew.

 

It sounds like a tall order doesn’t it, but we will empower you to be the boss of your own pub restaurant and really make it your own whilst receiving lots of support and advice from the central team, as and when it’s needed.

 

The White Hart is an old coaching inn that has been nourishing and refreshing travellers for over 300 years.  Built in the early 17th Century it has history seeping through its veins and inside you’ll find character and charm at every turn. Our menu has a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by some more exotic influences from other parts of the world: in other words, modern British cookery.  Our passion lies in finding quality ingredients and preparing, cooking and presenting them in a modern but unpretentious way.

Deputy Manager

Salary package from £24,000 - £28,000 plus tips and company benefits

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager with a big front of house character to help run the pub alongside the Manager.

You won't carry the full weight of responsibility but you’ll be helping to run a substantial business and will be the manager's right-hand person - making decisions and directing things on a daily basis.

The role is very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day financial administration.

As well as helping to select wines and beers, you’ll join in with menu development with the chef team and above all, be recognised as a natural, charismatic and friendly host who genuinely enjoys looking after people and providing great service.

We need someone who has a real eye for the detail together with management experience in a similar pub or restaurant environment.  You’ll need to have a real passion for and sound knowledge of quality food and menu development, cask ales and beers, wines and spirits.

Bar/Waiting Staff

Hourly rate plus tips and company benefits

Full and part-time Bar/Waiting staff required for the White Hart in Sevenoaks.

We are looking for fun characters who have a passion for decent food & drink and enjoy delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team in a busy food led environment.

The potential here is enormous, whether you are just looking to work a few hours a week or would like to kick start your full time career in hospitality management. Whatever hours you are looking to work we are very flexible and try to work around people’s commitments, however we are looking for permanent staff who will be able to work beyond the end of the summer.

Kitchen

Junior Sous Chef

Salary package up to £24,000 tips and company benefits. + accommodation,*

We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef with excellent cooking skills, experience in helping to set and achieve GP percentages and the ability to manage high volumes with the right standards of quality and consistency.

Together with the head chef you will help write the menus, assist in sourcing ingredients from the best suppliers and set and maintain the highest standards of food quality and consistency. You’ll also need to help to efficiently run service in the head and sous chef’s absence and so your kitchen management and organisational skills will be of paramount importance.

Chef de Partie

Salary up to £22,000 plus paid overtime, tips and company benefits + Accommodation*.

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie who will help set the highest standards of food quality and consistency. This is a busy working environment, and as well as having high standards and demonstrating good attention to detail, you'll help the crew set the bar high in terms of cooking delicious dishes, maintaining effective kitchen controls and adhering to excellent standards of health and hygiene.

The potential here is enormous and we're looking for an ambitious and committed chef with a passion for good food who is ready to take the next step in their career. We provide all our chefs with real opportunities to develop with us into a senior chef role with training and support in place for you along the way.

Depending on your experience, we'll reward you with a salary up to 22,000 for a 45 hour working week, plus paid overtime, tips and company benefits, and you'll be part of a successful, growing company who have been awarded Pub Group of the Year on five occasions.

Maintenance

Cleaner

The White Hart, Sevenoaks are looking for friendly and conscientious cleaner to join our crew. Our cleaners take a real pride in their work and are significant in helping to keep our beautifully refurbished pub looking clean and in great condition. 


Hours are mornings, approximately 3 hours per day, 15 hours per week - this will include weekends. 

Previous experience is preferred - general duties will include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, toilet cleaning, use of floor buffing machine and other general cleaning tasks
