Due to an internal transfer we’re looking a warm and charismatic host to manage The Red Lion. We encourage our pub managers to be the boss of their own business and really make the pub their own. Running a Brunning and Price pub is a multi-facetted career: you will be responsible for choosing your own menus, beers and wines, negotiating prices with suppliers and making a £1m + business profitable, so you’ll need to be a real foodie, have a passion for decent beer and wine, and be entrepreneurial at heart. Most importantly of course, you’ll need to be a natural host and enjoy looking after others, be able to build and direct a happy crew, and have the ability to drive a substantial business forward.
Sounds like a tall order doesn’t it, but you will receive a lot of support from the central team as and when it’s needed. In truth, aside from the knowledge and experience to run a substantial business at senior level, the most important quality we look for in all our people is strength of personality….we like fun characters who set the bar high and have a real eye for detail.
We’ll reward you with a salary package anywhere around £35K depending on your experience, and provide you with high quality accommodation as part of the deal.
