Front of house
Andrew Coverley
Manager
Being an ambitious soul, this is Andrew's third incarnation as a B&P employee, and each time he's left we've given him some top notch leaving presents, like golf clubs and an i pod. Next time he's hoping for a new five door saloon car, but we're wise to his tricks. He's a complete foodie and wine buff, so he is in his element in the pub. Golfing and football are high on his sporting agenda and so is his partner Samantha.
Caroline Bowyer
Deputy Manager
Caroline has seen and done a whole lot for one so apparently young: having started out as a chef at the Blackhouse Grill, she worked with Neal's wife Sarah at Duttons in Chester for four years, and was the F&B manager at Abode for a year. Her absolutely favourite thing is shopping, specifically for shoes, and she's no stranger to a bit of cheese - extra mature Cheddar, if you've got any.
Natalie Shaw
Assistant Manager
Natalie has the finest genetic blueprint for the job - her mother is the renowned Gail Shaw at the Corn Mill (a legend in her own lunchtime), but Nat is a star in her own right. She has a sunny, upbeat personality, and is one of lifes enthusiasts: the future is bright on planet Shawso.
Kitchen
Simon Brooks
Head Chef
Simon comes from Bognor Regis and has previously been a roving head chef for us in the south, so he comes with plenty of experience under his belt. He loves running and competing in triathlons, so we may very well have the fittest head chef in the North - most of the others are into darts, beer and sofa-surfing.
Gareth Jones
Sous Chef
Gareth the Jones comes from Connah's Quay but now lives in Warrington with his partner and their little boy who charges around keeping them very busy. His interests are cooking - which is helpful - and the great outdoors.
Stoyanka Valeva
Sous Chef
Tanya hails from Bulgaria, and has lived here since 2000. In her professional life she has always worked as a chef, previously at Mere golf club in Knutsford.Interests include visiting national trust parks and property, as long as there isn't much walking involved.
David Hyde
Chef de Partie
Originally from Widnes, David has been cheffing for 22 years man and boy. He is a big sci-fi enthusiast, both in film and books and likes to dress up as a space man (we made that bit up). He is married to Rosalene and they have two dogs called Bill and Ted.
Daniel O'Donnell
Chef de Partie
Born and bred in Warrington, Dan has wanted to become a chef since the age of 12 apart from a moment of madness when the aviation industry caught his eye. Previously Dan cooked in a restaurant over a BMW dealership, serving complimentary meals to people who bought the very expensive cars. He loves motorbikes and old school house music.
Maintenance
Stephen Claffey
Gardener/Handyperson
Stephen lives on a small holding, where he grows all his own vegetables and looks after his pigs, sheep, chickens and bees. Time away from work is spent on his plot, which is his second home. Stephen is also a qualified joiner, so he makes an ideal pub gardener handyman for us. He’s a married man who is determined never to retire.
Rosalind Alcock
Cleaner
Rosalind has a passion for holistic therapy which is her hobby, although none of us is sure quite what it means, but she wants to spend more time doing it. She is married with two children, and spends her free time walking the family dog, listening to music and dancing.
