Deputy Manager

Salary package from £26,000 - £30,000 plus company benefits

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join the crew at The Haycutter, Oxted, which we’re very excited to have as the latest addition to the Brunning & Price family of pub restaurants.

We’re currently in the process of a substantial tip to toe renovation to restore this lovely country pub to its former splendour and we plan to re-open Autumn 2017. We're looking to get our senior members of crew on board sooner rather than later for training at our other pubs, so you can hit the ground running when we open.

The Haycutter will have the bar at its heart and food in its soul. You will find six cask ales on tap, an extensive wine list and a fine selection of spirits. Our seasonal menu will include high quality, freshly cooked food complemented by some more exotic influences from around the world – in other words, modern British cooking.

As Deputy Manager, you won't carry the full weight of responsibility but you’ll be helping to run a substantial business and will be the manager's right-hand person - making decisions and directing things on a daily basis. The role is very hands-on and extremely varied encompassing people management, food and drink, customer service, pub maintenance and day to day financial administration.

As well as helping to select wines and beers, you’ll join in with menu development with the chef team and above all, be recognised as a natural, charismatic and friendly host with a big front of house character who genuinely enjoys looking after people and providing great service.

We need someone who has a real eye for the detail together with management experience in a similar pub or restaurant environment.  You’ll need to have a strong passion for, and sound knowledge of, quality food, menu development, cask ales, beers, wines and spirits.
