Staff
Front of house
Paul Jeffery
Manager
Paul has been in the hospitality world for many years, having been with Nick at the infamous Churton’s Wine bar for some five years, so he must have an iron constitution. He was the president of his student union and got a Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, so he’s not just a lounge lizard – although we don’t reckon he’s seen the top of a mountain for some time now.
Benjamin Redwood
Deputy Manager
Ben is Coventry born and bred, but moved up to Chester to go to University and decided to stay. We managed to nab him from Telford’s Warehouse (he applied - we didn’t poach him, honest guv’). He’s married and loves to cook at home and is a thoroughly good bloke. He’s had a short stint as a roving assistant, but we soon snapped him up when he came for his Harker’s stint, so that was easy.
David Evans
Assistant Manager
Dave is the resident beer monster at the pub, and takes a personal interest in all his charges - though you can tell when he gets past pint no1 as his horrendous laugh manifests itelf. Dave has kept to a fanatical diet of pizzas, kebabs and burgers for years now, as he needs the energy that saturated fats provide in order to keep the cellars immaculate.
Jennifer Love
Assistant Manager
Jen joined us from a swanky cocktail bar and restaurant in the Northern Quarter after realising that beer is best. She always has a smile on her face, and is rarely seen without a bottle of pop and a bag of crisps to hand. Jen gets very excited by things: so much so that she often forgets to breathe between sentences: her middle name is 'fun', and she is determined to get the most out of life.
Laura Wilson
Bar/Waiting Staff
Phew…what can you say about Laura? Known as Spuggy after the Byker Grove character, this ebullient Geordie is a one-woman Mardi Gras with no quiet pedal. Laura is always up for a party and enjoys a whisky or two, especially if she finds herself flagging after a vat of vino. Spuggy is no stranger to a 3am kebab van, and loves her battered haddock. Aaron Fielding
Doorman
You couldn't really teach Aaron anything about Harkers customers. He's been "doing" the door forever.
Kitchen
Ceri Campbell
Head Chef
Ceri has had a hugely adventurous life to date, having travelled all over the world from London to Gleneagles, from Amsterdam to Bermuda. She found her way out of the 'Triangle' in one piece, and has been happy to call Harkers 'home' for many years now.
Christopher Jones
Sous Chef
Chris doesn't have any hobbies. He's from Ormskirk, and his favourite dish is pork balls stuffed in cabbage. Apart from that, despite the evience of his photograph, he wouldn't mind getting fit one day. Actually, on the quiet he's a bit of a grafter, and he's a good bloke to boot.
Paul Hope
Third Chef
Paul came to Harkers from Hoole Hall, bringing with him a barrow load of enthusiasm and the joys of youth. He likes to fish, play pool and party in his spare time, so with that up his sleeve he gets on with just about everyone.
David Halewood
Chef de Partie
One of the prettier less grumpy chefs in Harkers' bijou kitchen.Dave been cheffing for years at various levels up to Executive chef, and now just wants to cook for the love it. He's very laid back with a keen interest in outdoor sports, loves all things water related (including the odd scoop), climbing and travelling. All round good bloke really.
