A dry and elegant Pinot Grigio, as clean as my Grandmother's conscience.
Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Les Carisannes, France 19.95
Top notch Sauvignon without breaking the bank, full of fruit, weight, elegance and flavour: one nil to the French.
Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Estampilla, Chile 2.90 15.95
A clean and sophisticated wine with ripe citrus and tropical fruit balanced by a crisp acidity.
Grillo, Sicilia, Italy 17.25
Another step up from Pinot Grigio, but at the same price. Predicted to be the next big thing.
Mâcon-Lugny-'les Genièvres' Louis latour 3.80 22.45
Proper Chardonnay.
Buttery and full

A lovely wine with good length, lovely soft fruit and bags of finesse.
Pouilly Fuissé - Les Chailloux 2004, Burgundy, France 32.50
Planted on flinty soils known as 'Chailles', or gun flint, this Burgundian Chardonnay expresses hints of undergrowth along with all the minerality, weight and layers of fruit one looks for in a wine from this renowned village.
Gavi di Gavi, Cristina Ascheri 2007, Piedmont, Italy 22.75
An iconic wine produced from the Cortese grape, it is medium dry and laced with floral notes and fresh fruit. Even the Italians drink it.
'Le Haut de la Garde' 2005, Chateau Pierre-Bise, Anjou, Loire Valley, France 24.00
An absolute beast of a wine from maverick producer Claude Papin, dripping with honey, citrus fruits and a slightly nutty edge, it has a wonderful nose and a full, dry, elegant finish. A wine drinker's wine. ..
Chardonnay 'Novas' 2005, Chile 24.45
Full on Burgundy quality, this is Chardonnay from the Casablanca Valley only at half the price of its French cousin.
Clean but rounded
Chablis 2006, Domaine Chevallier, France 26.00
Wonderfully clean fruit with depth and weight in this mineral-driven wine from the northern tip of Burgundy.
Pouilly Fumé 2006, Loire Valley, France 26.00
If the aroma of fresh grass cuttings and the delicious taste of asparagus with gooseberries and a mouthwatering limestone finish is not enough, do not purchase this beautifully elegant wine.
Chardonnay 2007, La Joya, Chile 2.85 15.95
Unoaked and cold-fermented, this is at the crystal clean, fruit driven end of the Chardonnay spectrum.
'Blanc de Mer' 2007, Bouchard Finlayson, South Africa 19.95
A collaberation between two wine producers as they sat eating shell fish together in Cape Town. The wine quite naturally is clean, well balanced and harmonious, good on its own or with our old friends from the ocean.
Chenin Blanc 2009, Franschhoek Cellars, South Africa 15.95
Creamy and soft with good fruit. Chenin really does love the soil of South Africa.
Chablis 1st cru, Fourchaume, Oliveira Lecestre, France 28.00

An outstanding example of this coastal varietal that's been taking the plaudit's for a good couple of years now, and rightly so .
Fruity and aromatic

Riesling Spatlese 2006, Weingut Paulinshof, Germany 28.00
When the Germans do it well they do it very well. This sweet toe tingler has delicious fruits dripping off your tongue: if you caramellised tangerine peel this is how it would taste. The balance between sugar and fruit is stunning.
Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Clifford Bay Reserve, Marlborough, New Zealand 26.00
Now don't get me wrong, your average Marlborough Sauvignon hits the spot - but this little nunber is on the next level. Zesty lime and pineapple flavours are complemented by wild gooseberry and nettle stalk aromas. Class.
Riesling, Limestone Coast, Australia 15.95
A limey quaffing Riesling which is just incredibly tasty.

Champagne, Camille Savès 'Cuvee Rose' France 39.95
Dance, just dance, only make sure you wear your pink slippers.

Dont be put off by the Las Vegas style packaging, this is a serious piece of pink bubbly action that stands up against the aristocrats of Champagne - and for half the price too.

Top notch Champagne form one of the classic houses.
Tanners Cava, spain 5.25 20.95
Made in the exact same way as Champagne except in Spain. So good you might need another bottle.
Dessert Wine
Icewine 2005, Peller Estates, Canada (375ml bottle) 45.00
A stunning example of icewine from Canada, this is so pure you almost feel guilty drinking it. This is the Bentley of the puddding wine community, and is just wonderful with cheese. A bottle will just about do six people.
Muscat de St Jean-de-Minervois, France(375ml bottle/50ml glass) 2.45 14.95
Delicious little sweety that is sticky without being cloying and reatains a delightful citrus finish, yummy.

Just how Rioja should be, with ripe fruit and supple vanilla tannins, even the label is ace.
Merlot 2006, C.J Pask, Hawkes bay, New Zealand 24.95
I really am beginning to belive that New Zealnd is where the old world meets the new in wine terms anyway, this is packed full of delicious, plummy fruit flavours but has a subtle oak, long and refined finish.
Chianti 2007, Sensi, Italy 19.95
A softer style of Chianti with rich dark cherry and raspberry fruit flavours.
Rioja Reserva 2004, Dinastia Vivanco, Spain 28.00
Superb old-style Rioja. Ageing gives it an intense colour, aromatic nose and a delightfully soft, complex palate of blackcurrant, vanilla ice cream and liquorice.
Warm and spicy
Chateauneuf du Pape 2007, Domaine Nalys, Southern Rhone, France 35.00
Full bodied and well balanced wine with silky tannins, dark fruit and good length.
Shiraz 2005, Peter Lehman, Barossa Valley, Australia 3.35 18.95
A super piece of Barossa Shiraz action with pumped up fruit and smokey black pepper flavours - not to be confused with the jammy old Shiraz that sometimes hangs around supermarkets.
Pinot Noir 2008, Esterházy, Austria 25.00
It is not every day that one wakes up and fancies an Austrian Pinot Noir but this wine will do it to you. A lovely nose leads to some delicious strawberry and raspberry flavours on the palate and a long, warm, spicy, clove -aden finish.

Chateau Kefraya 2000, Bekaa valley, Lebanon 32.00
They say - 'A calm explosion of black cherry, tobacco and ceder on the nose. A smooth and supple texture conceals a full bodied and velvety finish'. We say - 'Beating Chateau Musar with something to spare right now'.
Amarone Della Valpolicella 2003, Rugola, Italy 39.00
Surely the Grandfather of the world's great wines. Hints of black cherries, liquorice, raisins, chocolate and tar are in that bottle somewhere: this is fairly sweet by nature and wonderful with cheese.
Drought Reserve Shiraz 2003, Canonbah Bridge, Australia 38.00
This stunning wine is made very rarely and in very small quantities. Amarone in style it has a sweet complexity which exhibits hints of chocolate, cassis, liquorice, rum and raisin ice-cream and a little hot, fresh tar. Is very good friends with anything cheesy that resides on a board.
'Ripasso' Cantina Valpantena 2007, Valpolicella, Italy 4.50 26.00
This baby Amarone is up for anything from meat pie to Stilton cheese and is so easy to drink that one day it will probably carry a government health warning all of it's own.
