    The Cross Foxes - Whites

    House Dry White 125 ml Bottle
    Marche Bianco, Italy 2.80 14.50
    A fresh and pleasing wine with a well rounded, easy-drinking finish.
    Light and crisp
    Coteaux Loire, Muscadet sur lie, France 24.95
    A real quaffer. A light floral nose with a fresh and vibrant flavour. An excellent example.
    Sancerre, Vincent Delaporte, 2008, France 25.50
    Once again from the Loire Valley, this is is possibly the most renowned wine of the region. It has a flinty and mineralic character with lean, steely fruit and grassy notes.
    La Beaume, Sauvignon Blanc, France 3.80 21.95
    Tastes as good as a Sancerre. Great lingering acidity with a fresh fruity clean finish.
    Marcheseni Pinot Grigio, Italy 3.20 17.95
    Classic Pinot Grigio with a touch of almond making an exceedingly quaffable vino.
    San Rafael, Sauvignon Blanc, Chile 3.10 18.50
    Outstanding value for money. Crisp and fresh with hints of nettle,green apple and goosberry.
    Pouilly Fuisse, Domaine Cordier, France 29.95
    A classic from the Maconnais in Burgundy. Delacate, pale and very refreshing.
    Fruity and aromatic
    Pouilly Fumé, La Rambarde, 2007, France 24.95
    A crisp white from the Loire valley with generous fruit and a light, smokey character; it is a dry, elegant wine with a good body and balanced acidity.
    Pfaffenheim, Gerwurztraminer, 2007, France 21.50
    Fine, rich-textured Gerwurz with a spice and ginger character and hints of rose petals.
    Klein Chenin Blanc, South Africa 3.20 18.50
    Ripe and rich with mouthfuls of spicy pear and citrus flavours.
    Mussel Bay, Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand 3.90 22.50
    The wine that put New Zealand on the map. With great purity of flavours, this wine is mouth-wateringly juicy with aromatic, tropical fruit flavours.
    Ceps du Sud, Viogner, France 16.50
    Strong aromas of apricots and exotic fruits lead to a rich and full palate with a long finish.
    McCorkindale, Dry Reisling, 2007, New Zealand 24.95
    Refreshingly crisp in style with lovely aromas and lively fruit flavours.
    Fuller and more rounded
    Tintara Chardonnay, Australia 3.30 18.25
    A rounded Australian Chardonnay. A balanced acidity with not too much oak.
    Chablis 1er Cru Montmains - Domaine Chevallier 30.25
    The pure flavours and minerality come solely from the soils of Chablis and the Chardonnay grape. Crisp apple fruit with underlying flint notes, wine like this should be compulsory.
    Conde de Jauregui, White Rioja 3.30 18.95
    Soft and delicate aromas with hints of fruit and flowers - light on the palate.
    Champagne & Spakling Wine
    Graham Beck, Brut, South Africa 22.95
    A very well made sparkling wine that's both subtle and elegant in style.
    Prosecco Treviso, Italy 21.95
    A gently fizzed Italian crowd pleaser, Perfect at any time, especially on a sunny day or after work.
    Samur, Chateau de Montguert, France 22.95
    An elegant rosé with a cherry red colour, strawberry aromas and a creamy texture.
    Undurrager Brut, Chile 18.95
    Another well produced sparling white from Chile. Using pinot noir and chardonnay grapes found in champagne.

    The Cross Foxes - Reds

    House Red 125 ml Bottle
    Montepulciano D'abruzzo Italy 2.80 14.50
    A fruity, medium bodied red with a good mouth grip.
    Elegant and Less Weighty
    Beaujolais-Villages, Chateau Chassantour, France 21.95
    A light and refreshing wine with ripe strawberry and red berry fruit. Can also be enjoyed lightly chilled.
    Mont Gras La Paz Merlot, Chile 3.00 17.25
    Cherry and chocolate on the nose, with smooth dark fruit and currant flavours in the mouth.
    Monte Haro Rioja, Spain 3.20 18.50
    Cherry red in colour with intense red fruit aromas, very well structured with a long fruity finish.
    Smooth and Earthy
    La Delizia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Italy 2.90 15.95
    A very approachable, young Cab Sauv from northern Italy. Flavours of ripe cherries and a warming hint of spice make this a real quaffer.
    Conde de Jauregui, Rioja Reserva, Spain 23.95
    Grown-up Rioja, with the benefit of eighteen months in oak: the perfect harmony between luscious fruit and vanilla oakiness.
    Cecchi, Chianti, Italy 18.50
    A good old war horse, grown organically these grapes give off a great rustic fruit flavour with smooth tannins. .
    Chateau les Amoureuses, Cotes du Rhone, France 24.95
    My favourite wine. A magnificent fruity nose with gentle spice. The flavour is rich, ripe and raunchy.
    Warm and Spicy
    Delicato Vineyards, Zinfandel, USA 21.95
    A rich and full wine with cherry, blackberry, vanilla and spice all present in the mouth. A good value Zinfandel.
    Primitivo, Puglia, Italy 3.00 16.95
    A real star find grown in the heel of Italy: as a result of the hot sunshine the wine is bursting with juicy, fruity flavours, complemented by warming spice.
    Peter Lehmann Shiraz, Australia 3.30 18.25
    An Auzzie Shiraz that ticks all the right boxes: a really good all-rounder with a touch of class.
    Tanners Claret, Bordeaux, France 18.25
    A true B&P classic. Drinking particulary well at the moment. It's a proper quaffers quaffer.
    Rich and Plummy
    Casa de Piedra, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chile 3.10 17.25
    Rich, ripe berry fruit on the nose and oodles of blackcurrants on the palate, balanced by a subtle oak finish.
    Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Fabiano, Italy 35.75
    The grapes for amarone are semi-dried in the sun to concentrate the sugars and intensify the fruit flavour; as a result the wine is full-bodied with Christmas cake flavours.
    Morgon, Chateau de Raousset, France 23.25
    Morgon is one of the Premier Cru villages of Beaujolais and is renowned for producing full-bodied and flavoursome wines. This is a great example and is a delicious wine.
    Zenato, Valpolicella Ripassa, Italy 29.75
    A stunning wine. Deep cherry and Cassis nose with dark soft fruits on the palate and a luxurious velvety finish.
    Rosé
    Kissing Tree, Zinfandel, California 3.00 17.25
    From California, a medium rose, bursting with ripe strawberry aroma.
    Chateau La Gravette Minnervois Rose, France 3.20 17.95
    A fabulous bouquet of vanilla, flowers and strawberries follow through to light, dry and fresh finish.
    Le Poesie Pinot Grigio Blush 3.20 18.25
    This wine has a slightly fuller bodied style while retaining the aromatic and refreshing qualities of the Pinot Grigio grape.
