This is how oaked Chardonnay should be. Spices and ripe pears on the nose followed by great depth of flavour, revealing baked apple and pears which are both supple and well rounded.

This rare wine is produced from grapes that have frozen on the vine. The result is a very pure, clean tasting wine with balanced natural sweetness and acidity as well as delicate ripe fruit flavours.
Rosé

An easy-drinking dry rosé with rich, ripe raspberry flavours. A delightful thirst-quencher.
Gran Clot dels Oms, Spain	3.60	20.25
A full on rosé with an abundance of fruit flavours. A stunning wine to enjoy with food or by itself, for dinner, lunch or breakfast.
La Delizia, Pinot Grigio Blush, Italy	3.10	17.25
PG that has been aided by leaving the wine in contact with the skins during fermentation. The result is a fruit driven quaffer that is very moreish.

This northern Rhone wine has a violet perfume, a rustic raspberry flavour and a gentle peppery body of complexity and depth.
Smooth and Earthy
Rucahue Gran Reserva, Cabernet Franc, 2004, Chile		24.00
The Southern hemisphere gives a more deep and intense flavour than a traditional Old World Cabernet Franc, with a noticeable earthiness to the wine.

A very approachable, young Cab Sauv from northern Italy. Flavours of ripe cherries and a warming hint of spice make this a real quaffer.
Conde de Jauregui, Rioja Reserva, Spain		22.95
Grown-up Rioja, with the benefit of eighteen months in oak: the perfect harmony between luscious fruit and vanilla oakiness.

My favourite wine. A magnificent fruity nose with gentle spice. The flavour is rich, ripe and raunchy.
Warm and Spicy
Delicato Vineyards, Zinfandel, USA		20.50
A rich and full wine with cherry, blackberry, vanilla and spice all present in the mouth. A good value Zinfandel.
Primitivo, Puglia, Italy	2.90	16.25
A real star find grown in the heel of Italy: as a result of the hot sunshine the wine is bursting with juicy, fruity flavours, complemented by warming spice.
Stonefish, Shiraz, Australia	3.25	17.95
An Auzzie Shiraz that ticks all the right boxes: a really good all-rounder with a touch of class.
Châteauneuf du Pape, Julliet Avril, 2003, France		33.25
A quality example of this famous wine. On the nose there are hints of soft spicy fruits and leather followed by a firm and distinctive spicy palate and a long peppery finish.
Saam, Pinotage, South Africa		30.50
A big, robust wine which packs a punch. This has burnt rubber and tobacco aromas and a heavy, robust mouthful of fruit.

Vibrantly red in colour, this wine has intense berry aromas accompanied by a hint of spice.
Tanners Claret, Bordeaux, France	3.25	18.25
A true B&P classic. Drinking particulary well at the moment. It's a proper quaffers quaffer.
Rich and Plummy

Rich, ripe berry fruit on the nose and oodles of blackcurrants on the palate, balanced by a subtle oak finish.
Wandering Bear, Merlot, USA	2.95	16.75
A typical example of a Californian Merlot: ripe, juicy flavours are kept in line by gentle tannins.
C.J. Pask, Gimblett Road, Merlot, Reserve, 2006, New Zealand		24.00
A delicious, soft and fruity wine with concentrated plummy fruit and an elegant structure.
Seghesio Cortina, Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, 2005, USA		39.95
Seriously awesome Zinfandel. It packs a punch of sweet black cherry and autumn berry fruit, balanced with an underlying minerality that makes this a top-drawer crowd pleaser.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Capitel de' Roari, 2005, Italy		35.75
The grapes for Amarone are semi-dried in the sun to concentrate the sugars and intensify the fruit flavour: as a result the wine is full-bodied with a Christmas cake flavour and a long dry finish.
Morgon, Chateau de Raousset, 2002, France		23.25
Morgon is one of the Premier Cru villages of Beaujolais and is renowned for producing full-bodied and flavoursome wines. This is a great example and is a delicious wine.
Zenato, Valpolicella Ripassa, Italy		29.75
A stunning wine. Deep cherry and Cassis nose with dark soft fruits on the palate and a luxurious velvety finish.
Chateau Plaisance St. Emillion Grand Cru, 2004, France		27.75
A top grade example of this Bordeaux classic. The ripe Merlot fruit is softened by gentle vanilla oak to give a supple and mellow wine.
Pomerol, Croix de Casse, 2000, France		40.00
A real touch of class from the heart of Bordeaux. This elegant wine has soft, ripe plummy fruit with overtones of cedar and spice from the barrel. Merlot at its best.
Dark and Satanic
Mission Hill, Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve, 2003, Canada		29.95
Something new from somewhere different. Full-bodied and packed with black fruits, oak and spice. This is a great wine to try if you're feeling adventurous.
Barolo, Monfalletto, 2004, Nebbiolo, Italy		39.95
'The wine of Kings, and the King of wines' - this is possibly Italy's best and most noble wine. It is full bodied and powerful with big berry fruit and strong bold tannins.

This has a good balance of fruit supported by a solid earthy backbone and it tastes divine.
