History 2002 raft race

The raft race happened again in 2002, with 72 craft running on the river Dee between the Boat and the Cross Foxes, a lengthy four-mile course that includes a really scary weir. Live bands played, rivers of beer were consumed, everyone got wet, and over £12,000 was raised for five local charities. Fantastic.

Being a biennial event, the raft race will be back again in September 2004.
