    Andrew Barker
    Manager
Andy joined us with a degree in hospitality, having worked at the Pant for many years as a part-timer in his holidays, and is old beyond his years. He has managed the Corn Mill since its opening, and the pub is very much his baby. Andy has a sunny, upbeat personality, and is very fond of Chateau Musar, golf, his family, and days away with his mates. He is forgetful of names, so calls everybody "Cheesehead".

    Senior Deputy Manager
'Shawso’ to her mates. A legendary host, she worries and fusses over customers and staff alike, and clucks her way round the pub making them feel all warm and cosy. Having had a hand on the corkscrew at Gales Wine Bar for ten years before she joined us, she is very well known around Llangollen. Known to be fond of the occasional white wine spritzer.

    John Chaplin
    Deputy Manager
John was a barrister in Manchester for the past 20 years, working in courts from London to Carlisle, but decided to throw in the towel and join the rest of us at a more relaxed form of bar. He has a passion for cooking and wines, and until recently played the saxophone in a rhythm and blues band that toured the north west. You are never short of an interesting conversation when John's in the room.

    Lisa Tawil
    Assistant Manager
Lisa had been at the Corn Mill for a couple of years as a casual before she became a part of the management team. Though she lives in the village next door with her husband and two daughters, she’s never lost her Lancashire accent or her Lancashire graft - she really gets stuck in, so people always like working with her.

    Annette Morris
    Bar Supervisor
Annette has Llangollen, and the Corn Mill, running through her veins like cider. She's as perky as a sandboy, never stops working, and just loves looking after her customers.

    Bar/Cellar person
You will struggle to find a nicer guy than Dan. He is always eager to please and is passionate about pubs, eating food and drinking real ale. He initially joined us as a part timer but soon realised that this is his true calling. He is great to have around and has really taken the cellar and real ale side of the pub under his wing.

    Kitchen

    Steven Girvin
    Head Chef
With his handsome looks and Irish charm, Steve is our resident Marti Pellow look-a-like. He used to swim for the Northern Ireland Under 16’s team, but now his hobbies include ale drinking, being a keen movie buff, and if he’s got any time left, he enjoys DJ'ing. His talent in the kitchen has taken him to America, Cornwall and Cardiff before discovering the high life of Llangollen.

    John Bevan
    Senior Sous Chef
John joined us from St Davids Park hotel and has done a fair bit of cheffing around and about, including a long stint at the Bryn Howel hotel. He is a very likeable chap and has clearly had a real passion for food since his early years. He is also a bit of a biker in his spare time so if you're on a relaxing drive over the Horseshoe pass, look out.

    Marcin Wieckowski
    Sous Chef
Originally from Poland, Marcin moved here four years ago with his wife, and they now have a little girl. Marcin’s apparently a bit of a quiet one, but don’t be fooled: he has a great sense of humor and has firmly made his place as one of the boys in the kitchen.

    Andrew Bramhall
    Senior Chef de Partie
Andy is a true grafter. Having run a pub kitchen in Llangollen before the Corn Mill was a glint in the milkman’s eye, he knows all about the hugely busy summers. Arriving early to make sure everything is ready, he will always find something to do so long as he can fit a cigarette break in somewhere. He is also partial to the odd pint of Boddingtons.

    Ben Elsden-Poulter
    Chef de Partie
Poulter, as he is affectionately known, originates from Norfolk, and even he doesn't actually know how he came to live in Llangollen. He has a genuine love for food and is never happier than when he is in the kitchen, so he's in the right job.

    Neil Jones
    Junior Chef de Partie
Neil is Pen-y-Cae’s answer to the X Factor, full of character, charm, charisma and star quality, all mixed in with some great tunes thrown out over the hot plate. He loves nothing more than spending time being chased around in the summer months by wasps - anything for an early finish and a trip to the hospital to see some nurses!

    Maintenance

    Photo of Glynis Davies
    Glynis Davies
    Cleaner/Kitchen Porter
Glynis is an absolute star. She’s always happy and smiling which passes through to the rest of the team. Glynis is well known for her endless questions, and endless supply of biscuits (mainly jaffa cakes). She keeps a personal stash in the cupboard for morning tea, but because we constantly pester her for them, she’s taken it upon herself to start up a “Biscuit Club”.
