Company Days Out - Beer Festival 2003
|
On August 7th, a fine cross section of 25 ladies and lads braved the heatwave and headed for London for Camra's annual beer-tasting extravaganza at Olympia. We kicked off with a tasting of this year's champion beers - the Supreme Champion was Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted, at 3.8%, with Crouch Vale Brewer's Gold (4.0%) taking the silver and Lidstones Rowley Mild (3.2%) gaining bronze medal. A great start to the proceedings. There was a strong lobby of opinion, particularly from Jill and the Armoury team that the Brewers Gold deserved the Champion tag-so maybe next year. Of the beers that we are well acquainted with, our Beer of the Festival was Roosters Cream 4.7% closely followed by Oakham JHB 3.8% and St Austell Tribute 4.2%. |
