Sous Chef

Salary package up to £26,000 + benefits + accommodation*

We are looking for a Sous Chef with excellent cooking skills, experience in helping to set and achieve GP percentages and the ability to manage high volumes with the right standards of quality and consistency. 

Together with the head chef you will help develop seasonal menus with a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world – in other words, modern British cookery.

You’ll assist in sourcing ingredients from the best suppliers and efficiently run service in the head chef’s absence and so your kitchen management and organisational skills will be of paramount importance.

Creating a happy working atmosphere is vital to the successful running of the kitchens and comes high on our agenda and so your contribution to creating a friendly and supportive working environment is crucial.

Depending on your experience, as a Sous Chef we’ll reward you with a starting salary package up to £26,000 per annum.  Our rate of growth means that there are exciting opportunities springing up all the time and we always try to promote from within when we can which means this is an excellent stepping stone on the road to managing your own kitchen.

Chef de Partie

Salary around £20,000 (based upon 45 hours per week) + overtime, tips and benefits 

We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie at the Architect in Chester city centre. 

As a Chef de Partie you'll have the opportunity to gain experience working across all areas of the kitchen and will generally be given responsibility to look after a particular section with the help of other chefs

On a daily basis you’ll be supporting the Sous Chefs and Head Chef in a range of duties including fresh food preparation and cooking as well as undertaking kitchen management duties including ordering, stock control and ensuring food safety and cleaning standards are met. 

We encourage all our chefs to embrace our food culture and take part in menu development changes so you’ll have the chance to submit your own ideas for new dishes on the menu. 

This is a key role in the kitchen and we’re looking for people with good cooking skills and experience of working in a busy kitchen in a fresh food environment. We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Porter to work alongside our busy team of chefs.

Duties will be varied and will include helping to keep the kitchen clean, operating the dishwasher, hand dish washing and some basic food preparation.
