    Clean, quaffable wine with good weight and a well-balanced finish.
    Medium House
    Trebbiano Chardonnay, Marche - Italy 2.70 14.50
    A fresh and fruity medium wine with easy drinkability.
    Light and crisp
    Sauvignon Blanc, Los Romeros - Chile 2.95 16.95
    Clean and fresh with a refreshing, appley fruit flavour and a 'dry to medium' floural finish.
    Verdiccio, dei Castelli di Jesi Le Vele - Italy 18.45
    Clean, fresh and Italianate - like standing under a waterfall on a hot day.
    Pinot Grigio, Marchesini - Italy 3.15 17.95
    Classically light, slightly nutty medium-dry white, as clean as my conscience.
    Sancerre, Les Collines Blanche Brochard - France 27.75
    A real classic - fine minerality and flintyness with a lemon and lime finish.
    Fresh but rounded
    Chardonnay, Witt's End - Australia 3.10 17.95
    A happier go luckier chardonnay from 'down under' with a refreshing character that is heaps more than what you'd expect.
    Chardonnay, Deer Point - Bulgaria 2.80 16.25
    A new 'tour de force' in the chardonnay department. Delicious and fruity with prominant melon aroma and subtle creamy notes.
    Chenin Blanc, Dudley's Stone - South Africa 3.00 17.95
    A good fruity white with noteable crisp, citrus tones and distant mellow peachyness.
    Albarino, Zeta - Spain 21.95
    This is everything that is good about Spain in a glass. An absolute treat.
    Pouilly-Fumé, Carte Noire, Landrat-Guyollot - France 37.75
    A Loire beauty at its classical best.
    Fruity and aromatic
    Sauvignon Blanc, Domaine Vedilhan - France 3.20 18.25
    Piercing gooseberry aromas reminiscent of ripe cool-climate Sauvignon, coupled with crushed limes. Crisp and grassy not a million miles away from Pouilly Fumé.
    Viognier, La Campagne - France 18.25
    A good example of this succulent grape variety that thrives under the Mediterranean sun. Apricots on buttered toast with a touch of almond.
    Torrontes, Urban - Argentina 19.95
    Ripe pear and honey with a sweet candy floss and zesty finish.
    Sauvignon Blanc, Riverstone - New Zealand 19.95
    Archetypal Marlborough sauvignon with fresh grassey and nettley character brought together in a refreshing gooseberry manor.
    Rich and full
    Riesling, Tamar Ridge - Tasmania 25.95
    Complex dried apricot and orange zest with some spiciness. Well balanced honey and petrolly finish.
    Chablis, Emile Petit - France 28.95
    Old-style Chablis with buttery characteristics and balanced vanilla oak.
    Something different
    Pinot Gris, Sipp Mack - Alsace 27.95
    Wonderful rich petrolly aromatic wine with apples and lychees. A medium-dry, lightly spiced wine for grown-ups.
    Grüner Veltliner, Lorenze V - Austria 28.45
    To those in the 'know', this Austrian gem has the customary and bewildering array of delicious flavours; peach, apple, pepper,. you name it, it's in it ! .
    Champagne and sparkling wine
    Prosecco, Bortolomiol (200ml bottle) - Italy 6.50
    Lightly sparkingly and beautifully elegant - perfect fizz for everyday.
    Graham Beck Brut - South Africa 24.95
    A dry, elegant sparkling wine with a fine mousse leading to a smooth nutty finish.
    Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut - à Epernay, France 41.00
    Full, soft and creamy on the palate but nicely crisp with lovely supporting structure.
    Pol Roger Reserve - France 51.95
    This has a truly wide appeal and is perfect for lovers of exuberantly-styled champagnes (By Appointment to the Queen).
    Chateau de Montguéret (sparkling rosé) - France 25.95
    Delicious and fruity, rather like having a glass full of sparkling strawberries and cream.
    Rosé
    Pinot Gigio Blush, Le Poesie - Italy 3.20 18.50
    An elegant drop of Italian pinkness - refined, crisp and clean.
    Zinfandel Rosé, Vendange - California 3.20 18.75
    Strawberry sweetness with rasperry dryness. Refreshing juicyness makes this a very easy-going rosé.
    Grenache, Manõn - France 3.30 19.95
    Aromas of white flowers and peachy fruit flavours. A cool, refreshing dry rosé.
    Dessert wine
    Muscat de Rivesaltes (half bottle) - France 4.00 20.00
    A very balanced sweet wine that is nevertheless fresh with touches of lemon and peach.
    Royal Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos (250ml bottle) - Hungary 16.50
    This is a really intense honeyed mouthful with hints of ginger and orange marmalade. The bottle is small but enough for four (just).

    Moncaro, Sangiovese Cabernet - Italy 2.70 14.50
    A soft and fruity Italian with well ripened smooth tannins.
    Soft and rounded
    Merlot, Los Romeros - Chile 3.10 17.75
    Lush Merlot in full flow, soft and smooth, with rich, smooth tannins and long ripe fruit finish.
    Rioja, Monte Haro - Spain 3.20 18.75
    Soft and smooth, easy-dinking style with very fruity character, plum and cherry fruit dominate.
    Cõtes du Rhõne, Saint-Roch - France 23.75
    A complex wine with deep bramble jammy flavours, sturdy body and elegant tannins.
    Warm and spicy
    Shiraz, Cranswick Estate - Australia 3.25 19.25
    A smooth, velvety shiraz with good strength of character. Sweet fruits and mellow tannins lend this red a certain nobility.
    Cabernet Sauvignon, La Delizia - Italy 3.00 15.95
    A light and fruity red wine. Good tannins and intense bramble and peppery flavours. One of my all time favourites.
    Zinfandel, Primitivo - Italy 17.95
    A delicious alrounder. Simply on its own or with food this spicy little number could soon become a house favourite.
    Ripassa, Zenato - Italy 34.50
    A great big Christmas cake of a wine, with rich, dark fruit and a marzipan nose.
    Pinot Noir, Huia - New Zealand 40.00
    Rich 'All Black' wine - ripe berry and dark cherry with hints of smoke, spice and savoury notes.
    Smooth and earthy
    Carignan, Rare Vinyards - France 3.10 17.95
    Lovely expression of the rugged heathland terroir of Languedoc, inky berries and cherry fruits with touches of vanilla.
    Tempranillo Gran Reserva, Quinta del Conde - Spain 18.75
    A hint of soft perfume on the nose with a touch of vanilla sweetness amongst the ripe fruit.
    Malbec, Tanguero - Argentina 18.75
    Fruit driven and full flavoured. A really easy to drink red with satisfying smooth finish.
    Dâo, Quinta do Correio - Portugal 24.25
    A herby nose with slight smokiness delivering good rounded tannins and lots of berry fruit.
    Cotes du Rhone, Chateau Les Amoureuses, 2005 - France 25.95
    Medium bodied, well-fruited and served nicely by dark, cherry tanninand a sprinkle of pepper and spice.
    Bordeaux, Pomerol, Christian Moueix - France 29.75
    Long in the mouth, developing dark fleshy plum and coffee flavours. A class act from the man who makes Chateau Petrus, the most expensive wine in the world.
    Fronsac, Chateau Bourieu La Valade - France 28.95
    A great deal of charm in the glass, with a nose of red fruit. Elegant aftertaste with characteristic Fronsac tannins.
    Light and fruity
    Pinot Noir, Soligo - Italy 18.95
    Showed splendidly well in a recent wine tasting session. Really fruity and plummy, packed full of bramble jam with liquorice notes on the finish.
    Claret, Duboscq - France 20.75
    Classic Bordeaux which combines finesse with fruit and elegance and floral undertones.
    Chianti, Vernaiolo - Italy 21.25
    Hints of silky cherry and pepper with body - Italian flair with finesse.
    Valpolicello, Campolieti - Italy 24.45
    The Corvina grape lends itself to a light coloured wine offering dark berry flavours with hints of bitter almond and raisins.
    Chiroubles, Chateau de Raousset, Futs de Chéne - France 34.25
    'Limitée a 1000 bouteilles' from 80 year old vines. To me this is really, really great wine to accompany almost any food.
    Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin, Les Charmeuses Vieilles Vignes - France 37.95
    Fruitily elegant and enchantingly juicy with a classic finish of rich wood.
    Robust and full-bodied
    Pinotage, Saam Mountain - South Africa 18.95
    Deep purple Pinotage with intense fruit, juicy tannins and a hint of vanilla - a very robust wine.
    Carmenere, Rucahue Reserva - Chile 25.95
    Smooth, smokey textures with a creamy balance and a soft tobacco finish.
    Shiraz, Canonbah Bridge Drought Reserve - Australia 37.00
    Intense flavours of velvety chocolate characteristics - an absolute dream.
    Amarone, Della Valpolicella, Fabiano - Italy 39.95
    Full and rich in style, its deep pomegranate colour is the result of prolonged ageing.
    Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Riche - France 48.95
    A sumptuous, velvety red, characterised by black cherries, chocolate and caramalised fruit.utter indulgence.
    Chateau Musar 2002 - Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. (half bottle) 20.95
    Legendary small bottle of near perfection. Cigar box spice on the nose with intense flavours of red cherries and dark chocolate. .
